I bought a family pass because who doesn't love a train ride. We went a few times where they waved us through and didn't punch our card. We had a lot of visits left and the season is over so we went on Sat. and Sun. Weather was great and we enjoyed walking on all the trails. We still have visits left to use on the Halloween train.
Busy day. Friends for a visit, last trip to the Forest Museum. Picked up kitty litter. Dinner out with friends and a walk at the Crofton walk. Phew.
Luk was pretty excited about his lantern but ticked at how cold it was at the ocean. He rejected cookies because he didn't want to take his hands out of his pocket. That's cold. He shivered all the way home and was still freezing when I put him in bed. So, he can't handle the heat or the cold!!
We're ready for Autumn Moon Festival on Sunday! Such cute lanterns. Likely to melt in the rain though :)
I remembered the Spiderman costume this morning. Oops. Everything for a reason, there wouldn't have been time for it last night.
So the Birthday joy continues, he loves the costume. He's set for Halloween. Then he handed out his goodie bags to us and then was surprised with what was in his.
Celebrating Luk. He loved bowling. After a few balls he was exhausted, the balls were too heavy and he was having a hard time getting them down the lane :) We let him use the ball drop contraption. Cheating at it's finest. Oh and bumper guards too. Love it. Once we were home we had to speed demon through presents, cake, singing and a kazoo parade. He wanted to go to bed and Lili still had to head out to dance. Fastest Birthday party ever. We forgot to let him hand out his goodies. Will have to do that tonight.
Fei took around 40 pics of Esmei in a wee rattie basket today. Really hard to pick just a few. Such a pretty kitten.
Luk is four tomorrow!! Time flies even faster when it's your last baby.
He's so excited. He and Eric are shopping for a helium balloon and a cake in the afternoon. He wants to go bowling so that's what we're doing. Then home for dinner, cake and presents. I'm hoping he can stay awake a bit later than usual and we can watch the new muppets show together as a family. We NEVER watch anything all together, could be interesting. Could take several evenings to get through one half hour show ;)
The pictures are from Sunday when he was decorating his goodie bags. He was in a grumpy mood but he sat and did all the work anyways. Tonight he's been circling the island studying his presents.
Final name for the kitten is Esmei (Ezzmay) E for Eugene, S for Shelley, Mei is Fei's middle name and Mei is also little sister in mandarin.
We took Esmei to school today so that Jia could show her to her classmates. Too cute.
Lili is in Chalkboard again this year. Auditions were today. She wasn't trying for a lead. So imagine the excitement and shock tonight to see she got one of the lead roles! She is Auntie Em. Congratulations Lili!! And congratulations to Willow who got Glinda!! How fun. Can't wait for the show.
The groomer who lost my Eugene has turned us over to his insurance company. It infuriates me that he isn't taking responsibility and now the insurance people want us to prove we had a cat. So, I needed to visit Eugene's breeder to get a receipt.
I knew there were two female kittens from Eugene's parents and I was told they were white point and orange point. The new popular look but not what I was looking for. I suggested to Eric that he go in case Fei and I bought a Himalayan but his response was what's the difference between one or two kittens.
Ya', it was a no brainer. She brought out a wee kitten that looks just like Eugene. She's 7 weeks old.
It was a split decision. I took her in my arms and said I want her. Fei was really surprised that I had cash on hand. Within minutes we were in the car bringing our new baby home.
We have Eugene's Little Sister!! Let the name game begin.
So, our kitten has tested positive for coccsidia. Spelling? A parasite. He needs an ugly med twice a day that makes him foam at the mouth. Ew. Our kitten lady Joan from Cowichan Cat Rescue is treating him. I'm told this will be 28 days. Arg. So frustrating. He is alone in a cage :( Fei and I were able to spend a couple hours at Joan's house tonight playing with our Walter and four of his sisters. He is a total doll. Three more weeks before he can come home. Poor wee baby. Such a hard start.

Little Mr. was so excited to get to dance class today. Cuteness overload. I stayed in case he needed a bum change. I think Shelley and I both grinned through the whole class. We were there on a trial but I just went ahead and paid for the year. Clearly he's a dancer.
Lili and Fei danced at the exhibition again this year. Mom and Lesley came with us. We had a nice girls day. Saw a few people we knew, had some nice chats. Enjoyed some of the exhibits. Brought home caramel apples. Ran into Joan our kitten lady and she let me know we can have Jefferson. Yay. Pretty excited about our new baby. In other news...we'll be fostering his five sisters!! Six kittens sounds crazy. I was suggesting maybe I could call and renegotiate for two or three instead, surprisingly Eric is the one suggesting we'll manage. Crazy but fun. The girls are all black and white but just as fluffy as Jefferson (Walter, Henry, Harry, Russel?). The name game begins again. Hard to top Eugene.
