Lili's Award

Wowser is our girl ever doing great in school!  She got a gold c.  Which means she excelled in three categories.  Scholastic (Honors with Distinction), fine arts (drama) and leadership/service.  Approx. 900 kids in the school.  A handful of top students getting  awards. We're pretty impressed with our girl.
The top students in the school!!
Gold C awarded to one grade 10, four grade 11's and one grade 12.

This is Lili's friend group.  So fabulous that she finally found her peeps. So fun that they were all together in awards too. Should mention Maya (beside Lili) actually excelled in sports as well and was the only student in the school to get a platinum C.

Projects

Busy busy days.

Lili and Fei finished school last week.  They get their report cards today but we already know they both got straight A's.  Good job big girls The littles have their last day today.  They're off at noon.  Eric continues to find as many minutes as possible in amongst the driving. Therapies and extra carriculors take up sooo much time. Can't wait for the summer schedule.  The only therapy we've agreed to through summer is Kai's speech.  It has been life altering for us to have Lili driving.  Her and Fei just take off.  Shopping in Victoria, movie in Nanaimo, dinner at Transfer Beach.  It's clear Lili has found the freedom ;)  Fei can see it looming and is asking to drive her car daily.  Interesting and exciting days for sure.  LOVE it when Lili offers rides for her sisters or runs errands for us.

Creating parking spots.

Old leak in the moho.  Eric finally got to repairing, pulling carpet and installing new floor.  I may have been whining a good deal about this one.  It smells better for sure!  He finished a couple days ago.  Just in time for our first camp trip of the season.

Fun Sports Day

Miss Jia wasn't feeling it this morning so she came with me to take Sasha to the vet and then to work.  Sasha is a healthy little girl.  She got her first shots.  Booster in a month and spay in two months.  Her fontenal isn't closed yet and her back molars are just erupting now.  Could be she is delayed which is common in Chihuahuas or she is a month younger than we think.  The exciting part about that is that she might have more growing time.  She is 2.56 lbs now.  Which seems crazy small. She didn't flinch at her shot and she cuddled with everyone there ;)

Then we got to work, Shaw was there moving our internet, wifi and phones downstairs.  So the bulk of the day was all about the move.  Jia and Sasha cuddled all day.  Turned out great to have Jia there to watch Sasha.  Tomorrow Eric is coming to help me.  Yay.  I didn't take any pictures.  Too busy.

The boys were keen to do fun sports day.  Eric went with them and took some photos.  Cute.

Isabel and Sasha

Isabel grieved Lacie hard for a couple weeks.  She did settle down.  Then we showed her Sasha and she was thrilled.  She keeps an eye on her and has been sweet since the first minute. It's been pure joy watching them bond.  If Sasha is scared she runs to Izzy and gets under her.  They cuddle.  There is kissing and sniffing.  When Isabel eats she drops kibble crumbs for Sasha.  I'm certain that Issbel is now training Sasha ;)  When pottying Isabel circles her and pees and poops right beside her.  It's hillarious and it's working.  No clue how Isabel is managing to poop so often!  Tonight, for the first time, Sasha went to the door on her own asking for an outside pee pee.  Whoop.

Sasha likes Oliver and Walter too.

Where is Sasha?

Jia, bedtime, bring Sasha.
Too funny.

So much reflection in her eyes.

My Graduation Dress

I still have it.  No real reason, just frankly don't know what to do with it.  It's still in the original Miss Friths box.  So the girls were talking dresses and I offered them mine.  Totally joking of course.  We had fun unwrapping it and they both tried it on.

Hahaha.

Forgive my nightie.  Too funny not to share.  Eric got out my bike for me today.  I haven't ridden since some sensitive girl surgery a few years back.  Then it was easier not to bother with the boys.

I was out tonight circling the driveway.  Enjoying some quiet time.  Loving my bike.  Wishing I was dressed so I could whip out the driveway and go for a cruise.  Then Lili and Fei drove in.  That is still soooo weird.  I asked them to get Eric to bring out Sasha so I could try her in the basket.  Lacie LOVED her bike rides.  Sasha wouldn't settle and was wobbly every time she stood.  She didn't hate it.  There is hope.  Meanwhile Mr. Walter was hanging out.  I stopped to talk to Eric about comfort, condition of the bike etc and Walter jumped up.  What?!  Too funny.  Eric took Sasha and put Walter in the basket and we did a loop together.  Crazy!!
Oh my gawd.  We really have too much fun sometimes.  Can't believe Eric caught this moment.

We tried doing a sheet pancake in the oven tonight.  Worked great and saved a ton of time.

Fathers Day part 2.

Some of us were up early.  So we took off for an adventure day.  The girls slept in.  The teens had homework and studying.  Jia just wanted to lounge. I was happy someone was with Sasha.

We went to Nanaimo on the hunt for adaptative biking options for the boys.  So many ideas.  Ended up with lots of options.  All of them expensive with no clue what will really work.  Looking at e-bikes, trikes, baskets, trailers, recumbent and electric conversions.  Then we carried our search to the internet and found soooo many options.  I'm so confused.  I've asked Eric if we can just leave it for now and just ride our bikes.  Problem for Kai is that he can't see well enough to ride.  So we're thinking he could learn to stay directly behind me if I have a flag and flashing light?  For Luk he runs out of steam in 10 minutes.  So short rides for the boys to start.  We still have a trail-a-bike and are considering getting another one.  Problem there is that I'm not as coordinated and strong as Eric so I'm worried about wobbly boys taking me down.  I'm also sure that if they don't HAVE to pedal, they won't.  Kai is 85lbs and Luk is 53 so a big add for Eric and I.  Next option is the trail-a-bike for Kai and an electric trike for me with a back seat for Luk.  Not sure about riding such a wide bike.  Also looking at an electric recumbent for me that can tow Luk.  Or a kids electric recumbent for Luk. Anyways....we'll figure something out.  I definitely miss riding my own bike and I loved riding as a family.

We did get the boys new bikes that fit them.  They weren't as excited about that as I thought they would be.  Eric requested them in the box versus the ones that were already built.  We're hoping they'll get more excited once they help build their own bike.  They're both nervous to ride a bigger bike.  They can reach the ground flat footed while on the seat  so the bikes are definitely not too big.  Although we'd typically prefer a bike with growing room we felt the just right size would be safer.

We had lunch at the mall and shopped a bit for Eric.  Jeans and a few shirts.  Then came home to eat dinner with the girls.
The little kid in me wanted the purple Schwinn.
Funny part...it's the same as my red one ;)

A red Schwinn trike...plenty of room for Luk at the back.  Could even add an e-conversion kit.

New bikes.

Pre Fathers Day

Gramma took the boys for a few hours today.  The girls slept in and Eric and I got some time on our own.  We took Sasha to the farm market to visit Nicole and Steve.  Bonus exposure to the masses for Sasha.  She loves meeting new people.  Man oh man does she cause a stir.  Eric and I had fun just chatting to strangers, so many of them telling us about their dogs.  We ate crepes for lunch.  Then went to look at an enclosed trailer.  It was too pricey so the hunt continues. The bike holder on the motorhome only holds four bikes and is awkward,  plus bikes get wet, dirty and can be easily stolen.  Eric wants to put them in a trailer and lock them up.  Easy to take camping or biking locally.  Now that both boys are riding and Jia's bike is bigger we have to do something.

Random

They took turns for days.

Was sorta sad to see the box go.  It made them so happy.

Family haircut night.  We got ours done too.
Teenagers are on their own.  Wild having Lili driving.

Dropped Lili in a dorm at UVIC for Operation Trackshoes.  She was thoroughly unimpressed with dorm life.  Said room was gross, shared bathroom was a no and she didn't care for the food.  I thought the room was great.  The food is bland but passable.  This does bode well for her choosing a school that keeps her at home longer though.

Awe.

Our plans with friends fell through so we didn't have to race home and got to eat out in Victoria after dropping Lili. Bonus except we had the puppy.  We ended up at the Beacon.  Burgers, onion rings with gravy and shakes.  My favorite meal.  It was really good too.

Gramma found a friend in her chip bag.

Eric and I text pics of our new baby back and forth.

And another.

And another.  We think we're hillarious.

Jia and Max swimming mid May.

I took this one.  I think we all assumed the new little dog would be mine. No one told Sasha.  She likes Eric a lot.  We've always had his and hers dogs.  Never an ours.  It's fun.

Work cuteness.

More work cuteness and a total look of 'don't wake me".

Lili did it again!

I ordered Lili pedal extenders for her car from Amazon.  Pricey for what they are but she can use them on any car and keep them forever and they seem sturdy.  She is managing in her car but wouldn't be able to drive most cars and we'd like her to be more comfortable.  She looks awkward trying to see. Eric is installing them this weekend.  He suggested she leave her car home one day so he could do it and she gave us a look of complete horror.  No chance she was going back to a parent driving her.
In other news...Fei is doing great learning to drive.  She drove on the highway for the first time last night and thought that was ok.
