Parent Teacher Interviews.

I don't visit the high school teachers.  Girls are straight A's.  Seems little point in going.

We get tons of feed back about the boys so don't really need to go in.

Jia on the other hand.  We rarely talk to her teachers.  She's a busy, fidgety girl who likes to socialize.  We were told it's hard to keep her on task.  No kidding.  Don't we know it.  Anyways, today we heard that even through the sensory stuff and chatting she is on target, meeting goals and getting her work done.  They are aware she could do better if she could focus more.  They also felt she was ok and doesn't need any intervention.  So we can relax for another day.  She was so happy showing us around her class and pointing out all of her work. 

Kai's Citizenship!!

Oh happy day! 

I'm ready to book a cruise!  And plan a road trip to Disneyland!

Also get to take Kai's adoption briefcase home.  Yay.  Love, love, love when the paperwork is done.

Zacora

Zacora the wild mousie has been tamed!  She went to Eric.  After a bit she calmed down and played.  Jia was so excited.  Running around calling for Fei to come and see. Then she went to Jia for a bit.  Look at her smile!

Teasing.  He isn't freaked by the mice at all.  

Weird he likes mice but only tolerated the rats.  I think mice are just miniature rats.

She's so pretty.  

Ruby

The mice are WILD.  So wild I thought we might have to return or rehome them.  Eric said to give them more time.  Fei sat and pet Ruby and finally was able to hold her yesterday.  By last night Jia, Fei and I could hold her.  Today she wants out.  Gets into hands willingly.  She's playing with all of us now.  Kai won't try holding her.  Eric and Luk had turns tonight.  Soooooo cute.

Now Zacora, on the other hand.  Extremely wild.  Jumps and leaps when we get near her. 

Adventure day.

I declared an adventure day.  Told the kids they had 20 minutes to get to the car.  We started by Lili driving the car out of the gate.  Then to drop salad at Gramma and Grampa's.  Drove the back way to the farm market for a hot dog lunch.  Then to Chemainus to a swap and shop.  Where we found a really cool habitrail cage.  Jia made a wish for a pet.  So we bought the cage.  Also a giant calculator that hangs on a wall.  For $2.  Fun stuff. We went to see if the witch was in at Hansel and Gretals candy shop.  She was in!  Everyone was thrilled about that.  We got to walk around an antique store and the littles were great in the stores.  I had hoped to do a wee hike or hit a play ground but it was starting to drizzle so we headed back to town and hit the pet store.  Jia was certain she wanted a hamster.  Right up until we saw baby mice.  There was a LOT of debating.  I was worried the boys would be jealous. They weren't.  We got two mice one for me and one for Jia.  Ruby and Zacora (subject to change).  On the way home we stopped and got lemonade at a kids stand.  Always cute.  Then at home all three girls wanted a turn driving in the driveway.  Eric was willing to let the boys try but they were unaware that anything was up and were watching TV. 

We're home now.  It was a short adventure day.  The mice are settled into their new home.  They're tired.  They both found their water.  We're attempting to leave them alone for a little bit.  Soooooo cute. Jia has declared this the best day ever.

Dad's Retirement Party

It's official now.  We had the party.  Dad is retired.

The party was great.  Lots of fun. Happy chatter everywhere.  We're used to lots of kids running around.  No other kids for this one!  Kai and Luk were really enjoying the extra attention!  Little charmers.

Food was good.  Party plans all fell together nicely.  We're all tired.

No plans for tomorrow.  I've started season 2 of Outlander.  Fingers crossed I can lounge around most of the day.

Fun School Day

The high schoolers got to have a fun day with their friends.  Lili choose high ropes at Wild Play.  Fei went shopping at the Tswassen Mall.
