Easter Eggs

So I'm attempting to scale down Easter.  We have dropped the bunny poo tradition this year.  Jia will be distraught hopefully by next year it will be a distant memory.  Also I refused to fill a dozen eggs each.  So they are hunting empty eggs this year.  Then turning them in for a treat.  I'm also planning to let them hunt eggs over and over tomorrow if they like but then that's it.  Not interested in playing that game for days ;)  Hunting will be inside, even if the weather is great.  The baskets have way less than usual. To Eric's dismay I still did too much.  But in my defense, no clothing or shoes and I spent way less than normal.  Dropped the night before Easter routine.  No fresh grass, weeds and flowers lined in their baskets for the bunny. Just couldn't face trying to get the boys outside at bedtime to pick greenery.  Daunting.  So store bought fake grass it is. Orange and pink even.

So.  Eric woke me to do the routine (the big girls stay up to late for me) and I filled the baskets and hid 72 eggs.  I'm laying in bed wide awake now...listening to Esmei play with the plastic eggs!!  Yikes.  She normally sleeps with me but she is way too excited about those eggs, hidden all over the place just for her.  I'm a bit worried they'll all go to the places all of her toys end up.  Stuck under furniture.  Soooooo glad I decided not to fill them with candy!

Butchart

The weather over the Malahat was intense.  Pelting rain, snow mixture and heavy hail.  Then surprisingly lovely at Butchart.

Kids were all having a great time.  The bunny hunt kept Jia amused. They tolerated me taking some group pictures.  The carousel was a huge hit as always. Actually got a family photo, if only Jia's hair was under control and Luk's expressions were less comical.

The day was topped off with Purple Garden.  Yum.

April had her baby.

I've been watching April for weeks.  Excited to say I caught the birth live.  Spent a couple hours with April early early this morning.  Going to be tired today.  Eric was awake at the end. He wasn't quite as thrilled as I was ;)

Update. It's a boy.  I found myself checking on him a couple/few times through the day.  CUTE.

James is here!

It's been two years.  Doesn't feel like it.  He's just here like usual.  Fits right in.

The littles are thrilled to have a new buddy.  James has to hide to dodge them :)

Today they went hiking at Stoney Hill when there was a break in the rain.

We're off to Butchart tomorrow to hunt for bunnies.  Ready for Easter here.  James first Easter.

Hiding from hail.

Mice Pictures

Oh, they are so sweet.  They love to play.  They come out willingly and it's sometimes hard to get them to leave our hands.  Jia and Eric built the wooden furniture and they had fun crawling all over it.  Hard to get pictures of the constant movement.

The AFO'S

Luk, Gramma and I went to Queen Alexandra today to pick up Luk's leg braces.  He had picked out a blue Superman pattern and he got white Spiderman ones.  Uh.  He complained.  She offered to make new ones but he'll outgrown them fast enough and Spiderman is still pretty cool.

Then to the passport office to apply for Kai's passport.  Yay.

Got step one done of getting wheelchair approval for Luk today.

A bit of shopping and then home.  Only to head back out for a bit more shopping with Eric and the boys.  Got Luk some runners that will accommodate the AFO's.  We also got next size undies and sox for Jia and Kai.  Kai picked out Ninja Turtle underwear.  So cute.  He normally likes to help load groceries on the conveyor but tonight he only grabbed his turtle underwear and put it up.  Pretty funny.

Weird Coincidence.

I got an email from our cruise specialist Fernando this afternoon.  Wondering if we're ready for a cruise. Ah, yes please.  I knew which cruise I was interested in so he added room upgrades, 50% off the deposit, price guarantee and $50 on board spending per room.  Our rooms are beside each other, near the elevator and mid ship.  Yay.  Always great to have fun stuff to look forward to.
