Jabbed!

Jabbed!  He didn't appear as excited as I was.  He didn't even ask for a cake. We want life back without masks.  We want gatherings.  Lots and lots of gatherings.  We want our cruise in January.  Doing what it takes.
In other news.  I'm home alone(well Fei is here sleeping) and I cleaned the kitchen to get ready for zoom iep meetings and it's been clean for a whole 1/2 hour!  Such a rare thing.

Oliver has an owie.

The girls sent a picture of Oliver to us while we were camping.  His foot looked a bit swollen.  I assured them he wouldn't die.  Eric checked last night and it was worse but he was putting weight on it and he was eating and drinking.  This morning Lili woke me up to say it was worse again. Eric trapped him in the cage. So he was off to the vet this morning.  He's been bit by something.  It's infected.  He's being sedated today to clean out the puss.  Injected antibiotics and a day of observation.  Poor wee fellow.
At the back of the vet parking is a donation drop off center for a thrift store.  Some of the local unhoused were shopping in the boxes and making a heck of a mess.  I'm acutely aware this morning of how privileged we are that we can just just take the critters in when they need help.
Update: Oliver's surgery went well.  He's home.  On house arrest and stuck with a litter box.  He isn't thrilled.  His poor foot looks way worse now.  It's Lewis's Birthday and he's locked out.  Uh oh.  We don't love putting food outside it brings in raccoons.  Walter and Jenny know to hang around the front door to get in.  This isn't the fun part.
Eric took a selfie.  I think his 2nd ever.  He sent this one to me at midnight.  Haha. He loves his puppy.

Eric gets his jab this morning.  I'm home waiting for him.  He's run into Canadian Tire to talk Gelato truck issues with his mechanic friend.

Lili and made their appointments for the vaccine May 31.

Fei did the whole traditional kidnap your grad partner thing last night.  I slept through her leaving at like 3am and I have no clue when she came home.  She was in bed when I got up so that was a huge relief.  I encourage them to be adults and make their own choices and then worry like a crazy.  Now we anticipate the night she gets kidnapped.  Such a weird tradition.  Wasn't a thing for us.  Lili didn't participate.  We're all thinking there is ZERO chance her date is getting in this house past the Chihuahuas.  Haha.

Goldstream

Double cuteness 😍
So funny.
The best part.
We hiked to the falls.  We were told 139 stairs and 170 stairs.  No clue how many but a lot.
Too many people there to get any closer.
Just caught this moment last second through the trees!
Lots of interest from other kids on this cool thing.
Jia was loving her new skateboard.
The crazy lady walking her dogs in a stroller all over the campsite.
Red letter moment.  Coco snuggled up to Finn on my lap at the fire!
So, booking sites is a nightmare these days.  We take pretty much any site we can.  This time we were across from the sani dump.  I was massively concerned.  Occasional smells were pretty unpleasant.  In the end though, this kept Eric hugely amused.  In order to get a better view today during breakfast he slid the screen back.  Haha.  I had no idea we could do that.  Total gong show but he had fun.
We found Albi stranded on the Highway on our way home today.  He and Eric were able to trickle charge the battery enough to jump it.  Limped it home with another stop.  They've been playing with it all afternoon.
We're on a cookie smore kick this year.  Oreo's were good last weekend.  This weekend we brought maple cookies. Also good.  Shannon brought lemon cookies for the 2nd night.  Amazing.  Next trip repeating lemon because they were that good but going to try fudgios too.

International Chihuahua Appreciation Day.

Hillarious.  Who knew there was such a day.  Taking these babies camping today.

The Wayfair Swing

It came today. We're a little busy. It could have waited until after camping but when I got home dinner was ready and he was just getting to the build. Fun. Then a 6 o'clock zoom Birthday party, boys to bed and off to Walmart to shop for the moho.
I missed our old one.  It was a little too old, shabby, moldy and rusty for comfort.  I shopped all over but had a hard time finding a black one to match the couch.  So gave up. This one just popped up as an ad on Facebook.  At $209 I just grabbed it. Lili was teasing that it's so much smaller than the old one that it's obviously a kids swing.  Maybe. It won't be Eric's favorite resting spot.  But it might be my new spot!!

Triple Vet Visit

I have never taken critters in all together before.  Finn is 6 months today 4.9 lbs, unlikely to grow much more.  He had his booster. Testicles have dropped, he is cleared for a neuter June 2.  Yay.  He had a blood panel done today to be extra cautious and the vet is well aware of the surgical risks for him.  His meds are working and going to stay the same.  Coco is 1 1/2, at 4.5lbs had her booster and is the picture of perfection.  Sasha is just over 2, at 3.9lbs.  She is officially not fat ;)  There has been a lot of fussing about her fluffiness.  She is on the top side of normal which the vet prefers to see versus being underweight.  She does however have 3 teeth that need to be removed.  2 of them are going in the wrong direction.  Sedated dental surgery. Scary.  Poor wee girl.

They were all reported to be well behaved and everyone enjoyed them.  Cuddles happened.

I'm not ready to talk about how Jia's issues were dealt with at school.  It was a long night for me.  It was dealt with Caveman style.  I'm horrified.  It's yet to be seen how Jia is.  She seemed ok overall.  My instinct was to keep her with me today.  Eric's was for her to just head back in.  She didn't complain or ask to stay home.  She talked a little about things bothering her.  Which is unlike her.  She talks all day but not usually the troubling things.  She's a bit hopeful things will be better.  She herself was willing to admit her parts in the drama.  This too shall pass.  Hopefully.

Boys seem all good.

Fei is happy these days.

Lili is really swollen.  One side getting worse.  She is fearing dry socket.  I don't really know what that is but it sounds horrible.  She's calling today for advice.
Eric came to the office and Lili called so he's run home.  She sent me this picture.  Odd.  Looks like someone reading a newspaper.
Then this one.  Newspaper cart.  Came in our round about and carefully parked in our driveway to go deliver papers?  How weird is that?  There is no shortage of roads to park on.  This is keeping Lili busy being on the look out.  Update...Fei says it's our newspaper person.  Eric says it's our old, old, old newspaper person from years ago and he used to let her park there.  She's back on this route obviously and she's remembered the spot.  Still weird but clearly nothing nefarious going on.

A Mouse Playdate

Fei's last fitting.
The seamstresses daughter, 8 year old Olivia has pet mice, I told her weeks ago how much I love mice and that I would love to meet hers.  She was standing with Pirate Buttercup waiting for us today.  I was pretty excited about my playdate with a mouse.  I'm not kidding when I say I don't get out much!
It's been a struggle to find a harness Finn can't wriggle out of.  This one was Lacies.  He looks like a teddy bear in it. I think he likes it.  He sat like this and watched me intently the whole way to work and then same on the way home.  He was the perfect little co-worker today.
