Kamloops Part 2

We started our day at the Aberdeen Mall.  I liked it.  Jia was disappointed overall.  There was no Hot Topic.
Haha. We managed to get here with no pj's for the boys.  I didn't forget, orders weren't followed.  I did however forget to double check.  Part of the fun of a hotel stay is putting on jammies to hang out.  Kai needs bigger ones so we set out to find some.  We scored fabulous sales at Gap and Children's Place.  They also got shorts and a couple shirts each as well.  Ready for summer.
Sizzling Wok for six of us. Opa for Fei.
Lululemon pants for Lili and I.  Her first pair.  My first pair new to me. Of course I got mine on the clearance rack.  Still stupidly priced but we had fun in the store. I might wear them non stop just to justify the cost. Haha. Fei wears hers all the time.

We picked up pie to take to Cathryn and Marty's and we headed over.  They have 8.5 acres on a mountain.
First glimpse.
Maya. We were so thrilled to meet her.  We all kept our distance. To keep her safe from any bugs we might have.
So good to see Jade so happy.
The other baby in the house. Pepper who is 3 months old. Same age as Maya.
Puppy cuddles.
My Gawd.  That little face.
The kids had their own hide out. With a spectacular view.
We ended the day with Menchies! So fun.

Showing off their new summer pajamas. Proving pj's in hotels are a fun thing.
Just cruising through.
Lili and Fei went out with Lian after Menchies, they're enjoying the view before saying goodbye.
We're headed home tomorrow morning. The trip was poorly planned.  We definitely needed more time here. We'll be back!

Kamloops

The hotwire room is old, shabby, demo started, condos going in.  It's clean, everything works and it's got the most amazing view! The drive was four hours. Once again Google was correct.  Massive devastation and construction along the way.
So fun to see friends, it's been way too long! The kids were in the car already.
Tomorrow we get to play at their new place.

Almost on time!

We're only gone 2 nights!!  This is our version of packing light.  We pad times and hope for the best.  Today we actually made it outside on time. Then realized Kai's pants were on backwards.  So he had to go back in and correct them. 1st tears of the day.  The sun is out and we're ready for a fun weekend!
We ate and found seats all together!  Now quiet device time :)  Funny bit.  Kai was up at 4:00 am today. He used up his tablet power.  Eric plugged it in the outlet with Alexa.  I told Kai to grab his tablet and cord.  I came back and found everything on the counter moved and Kai holding Alexa and her cord as well as his tablet and tablet cord.  We're pretty lucky everything in the corner didn't hit the floor because I had Alexa's cord all tucked behind the vitamin basket. I do say all the time that Alexa would be great in hotel rooms.  Maybe we should have let Kai bring her.  Haha.

Yay Fei!!

The last day of first year!  With a 4.0.  We couldn't be prouder.  Time for her to enjoy some time off!!  She's napping right now ;)  We have a nice dinner planned for her tonight.

Front porch.

Equality!!
Mom didn't care for the orange set she inherited with her new home.  So it's living on our front porch.  My favorite color ;)

The old set was smaller and only one could lay down.  So I claimed that position of course.  Haha.  Now we have equal sides.  Just a bit tough to get past the first one.

Also, it's way too hard to part with the old set just yet so it's all crammed in for now.
Sasha peeking.
Puppy approved.

The boys had no rules day today at school.  There was a marshmallow fight involved.  It was fun to hear their happy stories.  Oh, and Kai is delighted with his new tablet.  No mention of the handle.

My desk is cleared off.  Most of us are packed. House and pets all set for the pet sitter.  So excited to see our friends this weekend.  It's been pandemic too long.

ANOTHER tablet.

This time Kai didn't hoop the software!  He did wreck the charging port so needs a new tablet. Today he bought his tablet with Birthday money.  We discussed it Monday. Then he got demanding and rude with foot stomping involved.  Which forced us to endure his attitude while teaching patience and grace when someone is doing you a favor. Today he was lovely with his waiting so we went after dinner. There are hundreds to chose from online but we're going on a road trip Friday so we don't have time for online. He got a SmartTab with a Disney overlay. I love the big case. Jia worked off some debt by setting it up for me.  She set up a new account for him, no controls, not linked to me. Fingers crossed this will help with the mess he makes trying to get past the parental controls.  Everything we see him do is super young so we're not too concerned.  He can't do a goggle search. He mostly goes on YouTube kids, Netflix kids account and plays simple games.

He thinks the headphones pictured on the front of the box is a handle. I'm not sure if he'll be disappointed or not tomorrow when he sees it's actually head phones.
Walter being extra.
Jia came shopping with us. She needs clothing that fits (another inch!) and that she will actually wear.
A whole new world.
The hotel we booked has a heated pool so she needed a new swim suit pronto. So, so cute.

Rathtrevor

We went camping in an atmospheric river.  Eric went ahead to set up.  Kids and I followed with dinner. When we got there he had us stay in the car while he used the car mats to get us in the moho.  The site was squishy and water was coming up through three layers of outdoor mats.
We ate dinner, watched TV and went to bed early :) The rain sounded amazing.
We woke up to sun!!
Wild roses all in bloom along the acean. I still can't smell though.  Sigh.
These two love their stroller rides.
I don't remember the kids ever loving it ;)
A new camping couch, puppies, naps and the ocean through those trees.  Heavenly.
The boys are in an awkward preteen age. Not playing with toys, done with play grounds. Forest exploring is so last year. They don't/can't ride bikes. They both sat around the fire willingly but they aren't very chatty.
These two found lots to do.
Sasha and Coco got to hang with their sister Rosy :)
Lili and Jade went to throw axes.
Lili is freakishly good at this.
This never gets old.  So much cuteness.
Luk gets to chew bubble gum at no rules day. We took bubble gum on an evening walk and collectively tried to teach him how to blow bubbles.  He didn't figure it out.  So the lessons continue at home. We let Kai chew gum with tons of reminders not to swallow.  He chewed and dpit out!  However he didn't enjoy the pressure of remembering not to swallow so he says he's done with gum.
We had a nice weekend.
