Who likes bears?
Eric takes scenery pictures, with no kids or pets. How odd.
As always, what a gorgeous group of girls.
I called Debbie to see if she was up for a playdate and she told me they were on their way to Witty's Lagoon for a nature walk to learn about black bears. Right up our alley, so we picked up Anna and Abigail and met Debbie and her kids. Great little hike to a really cool lagoon and we stopped every now and then to hear a little bit more about black bears. The kids reported that they knew all of it (Thanks Jerry's Rangers) but I learned lots. In particular I had no idea how tiny the bears were at birth or any of the particulars about their hibernation. All in all it was a great start to Spring Break.
Eric took the quad apart on the weekend and found the loose wire. I'm sure he's already learning more about the quad than he wanted too. Fei was really enthrawled watching him take it apart and put it back together again. I can imagine her working on it herself one day. Once it was fixed both girls were eager to ride it and Lili talked me into riding with her. Um, it moves way too fast. I have NO idea how Fei got this picture. Seriously, the photo should be a blur. Love my hair blowing back. Too funny.
After we hiked at Witty's Lagoon, we took the girls to see Chris racing RC trucks. That's radio controlled trucks. Lili and Fei got one each for Christmas so they were pretty thrilled to see what the races were all about. Lili in particular wants to get racing. In the mean time, they only use their trucks in the house. Not sure if they are trying to keep them clean and nice or not.
Our kids have two weeks off for Spring Break, then Easter before back to school on the 2nd. We got all excited and tried to plan a road trip with Penny and girls to Disneyland but the hotel situation was pretty sad and the big girls weren't too keen to go when it's busy. Penny ended up not getting the time and we all just scrapped the plan. For a couple days though, I was going to be in Disneyland on Easter! Now we're trying to find stuff to do here.
Still finishing up paperwork on the dossier, Sunrise requested a few changes in wording on the application letter to China. So we sent that off on Friday. Fonnie thought our dossier would be ready to go to China this week (dtc). It's starting to get a bit exciting. It's not looking good to be adopting Little Guy, we feel that if it was all a go we certainly would have heard something by now, there is always hope for a miracle though. Sunrise will be looking for a match to a little boy with special needs under the age of 3 for us. We won't know what the need is until there is file for us to look at. That's a bit wild. With Little Guy we knew the need and were comfortable. If we get a match off the Waiting Child list we'll have three days to accept or decline. Sounds exciting and scary all at once. As always a huge leap of faith. After our file arrives in China, it will get logged in, this is currently taking about two weeks. Once we have a log in date, Sunrise can look for a match. There are new files added to the list every month. We don't know how many families are in line ahead of us with Sunrise with a similar request. Most families are looking for girls. All to say, we have no clue what will happen, how long it will take or who we will be adding to our family. Jia is talking about a baby brother non stop these days, she is putting things aside for him, talking about the things she will share with him and sometimes she says she is going to love him because he is going to be her best friend. Awww.
