We had a riot. A new adventure. We all loved it. Christmas in July. Always great to find things we can all enjoy together.
I wasn't sure how it would go so we did a short jaunt. We didn't even pack food. Odd for us. We went to A & W after though and we were starving so it was better than ever.
Kids all want to go again tomorrow.
The kayaks seemed really great to us. Very sturdy and plush comfy.
We weren't sure how Jia would do and she fretted like crazy with fear of having her own boat and wanted Eric to tie her with rope to his boat. He put her in the water, shoved her off shore and she took off. Awesome. No hesitancy. All three girls were just paddling around waiting for us to get in and get going. Luk was with me and he started paddling immediately. Sometimes backwards, almost always too deep and in the way but he was working super hard. Occasionally we got things timed with me saying right and left and we moved swiftly for a few seconds now and then :) Kai was no where near coordinated enough to paddle so he got to relax. He was very excited and chatted loudly for a good half hour, calling out to all of us. Eric reported later that he had a hard time getting Kai to sit still. He's keen to go again which is great.
And she's off, just like that.
Thought we'd avoid BC Games events...nope...they were right across from us doing kayak races.
