Kai's metcha day. We started our day off with going into the school yard so Luk can show us the sidewalk that Kai has been rolling around on during his outside breaks. This explains the constant mud on his coat.
Now, I know, people always say "just let him do this, that or the other thing". But, here's the thing. We are in a constant race to get him to fit in. To conform. To not be the goof being picked on and beat up in high school. Which is coming up in Sept. Six months. He is rolling around on the ground. This isn't appropriate 13 year old behavior. So. We attempted telling him it's time to stop being on the ground. We bought him a new coat today but we can't let him wear it to school.
Interestingly after school today Kai asked me to tell him about when we met. He seemed to listen and wanted the story to continue :)
The treat looks decadent but the angel food cake is only 120 calories with 40 calories of cool whip.
It's covid day 10 for me so I was showered, dressed and out! We did a big grocery order. Kai's metcha, pizza, Valentine's dinner and Fei's seafood Birthday feast. The cashier asked us if we were shopping for the month. Ah, nope, three days. Oy. We also picked up more covid tests. So far it's just been Fei and I.
While Eric took Kai to his playgroup after school, Jia and I made an appointment with the school she's in now to talk more about next steps. Then we were walked over to Cvolk to have a look. Jia liked everything we heard. It seems like the program is built for her. Half days, four days a week, full grad plan met in the building with teachers, including electives and none of it online or at home. Perfect for her. However, it's a referral system. Not a 1st choice option apparently. Jia has asked to be set up to start with something attainable for her versus setting her up to fail in what we already know will be too much for her. Baby steps. It was good to see her intrigued.
