Fei is home.

It was fun getting to see all her pictures and hear her stories.  They had a great time.  She loved Hawaii.
She is home with quite the sunburn.

Rented Jeep.  Hillarious hearing their challenges getting the soft top off and then back on at the return.

Their last day was a Jeep day.
They had a riot with the top down.
They drove through botanical gardens.  Looks amazing.

Funny blurb.
Friend Sherri is in Hawaii and she posted a picture of her view, same as Fei's.  Turns out she is at the same hotel!  What a small world.
Lili had a rough work day.  She wanted a walk.  Eric was on his way out and dropped her off so she could walk home.  She came and showed me a giant house.  I glanced.  Then tried to figure out where this big house was.  Ah...it's our house.  From the back side.  I hadn't recognized it.  Haha. Embarrassing.  I still haven't figured out her walking route or why she was behind us.

Eric mended Oscar's fender hole! The beauty of plastic.

Walter. Oy.  He needed a grooming.  He disappeared last week on his appointment day.  We rebooked for this week.  Lili captured him in the morning and blocked the cat door with a full laundry basket. He pulled it away and escaped.  Eric found him in the afternoon and then built up the door obstacle.  Hillarious.  We got him there!  He looks lovely.

We're doing our Lunar New Year family celebration tonight.  Dumplings of course!

Sherk Lake

Another Jeep day with friends.
Julie came with us today :)
Another Tim's start.

Airing down.

Winter fern gulley.

Fun winter things.

Security letting us keep going.

Snow and icy trails.
Oscar just walked on up.
Easy Peasy.

This was such a gorgeous spot.  A few obstacles and challenges to the drive.  Julie let out a few swears.  Haha.
The lake was making some wild sounds coming from under the ice.  Haunting.  Beautiful.  Akin to whalesong.  None of us had heard it before.  It was magical and I wish I'd thought to record it.

Oscar got his first owie.  Thankfully nothing serious.

Giant elk on our way home.

So cool.

I was wearing Eric's long johns and using my hand warmers.  It made a world of difference.

We came across hikers who camped out here.  I can't even imagine.
We also came across a group chaining up their truck to attempt the snow and ice, they were shocked to see us all come down without chains.
A few more Hawaii pics from Fei.

Seeing another blow hole.  3 in the world.  She has seen 2.  Plus whales going by.

A sunset catamaran cruise.
Fei says she is in heaven.
Lunar New Year pot luck with friends in Nanaimo to end a long day.

Jia was working so 5 of us went.
The new shirts were fun.

Not a bday gift.

Look what my Mommy bought me NOT for my bday in 12 days.  Because we don't do gifts anymore ;)
Rechargeable hand warmers!!!
They get nice and super toasty.

Year end boxes.  Someone is a bit miffed they're on her bed.

Fei is in Hawaii!!
She is there with a girlfriend.  Their flight was delayed a few hours so they arrived to their hotel in the wee hours.  Look how gorgeous at night!

Even better in the morning.

They got a spectacular sunset at the Seattle airport while they were waiting.  Today they are exploring and set up some tours.  She reports it's warm and it smells tropical.
I sure wish I was there.

Look what I found in our weekly thrift foray.  It needed a new plug.

Mister got right on it.

Then we were all delighted to see that it works. The Dragon/Phoenix parts have little flashing lights in them, the inside part turns and lights up as well.  For $15 it really is quite spectacular.  I'm not sure it will fit in the Lunar New Year decoration shelves though.  He hung it where our xmas tree goes every year.

We made it out for a walk along the dyke on Sunday.  It was cold but gorgeous out there.  We made it to the bird sanctuary and called Eric for a ride home.  Hand warmers sure would have been nice ;)  Eric and the teens declined going outside.

I got a bee costume for Coco for 50 cents but it's a bit small on her.  It was cute for a few seconds.

Busy days.  If we can get Jia to school tomorrow it will be 3 full weeks without too much fuss.

Mom and I went to an $8 matinee on Tuesday.  We saw the last showgirl.  I left with more questions that weren't really answered with an internet search later.  Pamela and Jamie Lee were both amazing.  Not sure I can recommend the movie but it held our attention. And again...I'm just thrilled to have our theater back in town.  The new owners are doing a great job.  Hand warmers would have been great in the theater too.

Enough procrastinating.
Back to work.
Update.
Lili just went upstairs and found Esmei in one of the boxes finally.  Haha.
