Thanksgiving Weekend.

6 of us went to Costco.  We almost never go.  Jia has recently discovered soup dumplings from there.  Lili has been wanting a membership.  So we went and updated our account to be Eric and Lili since I very rarely go.
We did lunch.  $23 for 6 of us!
Look what I found!!  A camping score!  However, once home we realized the box has been retaped so could be a return and I need to exchange it but I couldn't go back on Sunday because for the first time since 1997 I don't have a Costco card!!  The irony.  Lili or Eric will have to run this errand for or with me.
Miss Lili went to a pumpkin patch and corn maze with a friend.  It sounded like fun.  Now I'm trying to factor a visit in for the boys.  Who would definitely prefer to stay home but I'll drag them along for more forced family fun.

Jia had to work Saturday and Sunday so we're doing our family dinner tonight. Eric and I hit the farmers market yesterday.  We'll have a vegan feast with Mom tonight.

I've barely seen Eric this weekend.  He bought an electric brake kit at the thrift store for the Commander a few months ago.  He's now putting it on the Wrangler.  I had to question him on how he knows how to do this.  He just looked at me oddly and said I'll just figure it out.  Of course.  He loves these things.  Constantly learning.  This set up will take a while, the next time will be smoother ;)
I still have no clue what to name the Jeep.  I've never named a car before.  It's weird.  I assumed my Jeep was a girl but who am I to assume gender?  Haha.  Anyways.  I saw someone online with the same color and they named theirs Oscar.  Which sounded cute to me. The color is perfect.  I like the name.  Perhaps my Jeep is a boy named Oscar?! Or his neice named Irvine?

Ok, and in the total crazy zone.  I wanted to join a local Jeep group.  Hoping for trail and pavement drives, possible food, toy drives.  I found an active group in Sooke and I was accepted yesterday and the first thing that came up is an invite for a Halloween Jeep drive in Sydney by the Sea.  Ahhh.  So exciting.  I've been telling Eric about all these crazy people online that are decorating their Jeeps for Halloween and I spent some time online last night looking for ideas to decorate Oscar? for our first Jeep run!!  I do know it's insane.  But fun.  Jia is all in.  Eric is looking at me like I'm losing it so maybe this is a girl event.

1st World Problems

We haven't been able to find a replacement grab bar for the Wrangler.  There is a decorative piece missing.  Eric glued my duck to a cork and shoved it in the hole.  Problem solved for now ;)

I read that mini wheats with the sugar topping are allowed for me because the fiber count is high enough to not spike sugars.  We just stopped to pick up a missing ingredient for dinner and Eric got me a box then he packed me a snack for the drive to pick up the boys.  They're frightfully hard to eat without being in a bowl of milk but an A for effort for sure.

Now...here's the latest thing....

Lili has offered to come home for her reading break and wants Eric and I to take a week off in mid November.  Super exciting. So, where do we go in November?!  Not gonna lie...it's been a long, twisty, deep dive into the internet.  I've been all over.  From a couple days on the Clipper to Seattle, camping on the island, Disneyland, a cruise, Hawaii, a train trip, hugging sloths in Honduras and Las Vegas.

I'd like to be warm and active/busy.  Beach is only appealing for a couple hours.  We need safe food.  The hotel isn't the goal so a boring/relaxing getaway isn't very appealing.  Eric is happy to let me decide.  Of course.  He's happy to do Disney and we haven't been there without kids since before kids so it is warm, easy and will keep us busy.  Eric would likely prefer a cruise with no kids.  Vegas has super, crazy deals right now on flights and hotels so it is also warm, easy and cheap.  He has agreed to get on a plane.  Which is rare so I feel a bit like I really should get him on a plane while I can!

1st world problem for sure.

Lili is coming home tonight for a movie night.  The Haunted Mansion.  So fun.  We're doing a theme dinner.  Po-boys with coleslaw and baked beans.

The rest of the Osborn Bay stay.

This never gets old.  I love it here.  We opted for another day/night here.
Relaxing.  It's sort of a rare thing to see him sit still for very long.
Our trailer looks so small.  It's worked well for us overall.  Some inconveniences to adjust to.  It's definitely not like the moho with seperate spacious rooms.  It is much, much more than Cheese.  We wanted something inbetween and this is it.

I'm finding it weird to not have a sink in the bathroom.  The toilet has water flow that swirls so that is rv gold.
Saturday night we all walked to the pub for dinner.  The food was good the company was great.
Shannon got this one of Kai on the walk.
We were parked here most of the day.  I saw online later that orcas went by but we all missed it.
The kids are not delighted about staying longer.  Their friends have gone home.
We day tripped to Saltspring to have lunch on the other side.  It was absolutely the perfect day for it.
Looking so anti social.
Eric is cooking us dinner.  We've had another great day.  I want to stay but Fei is working at 7. Eric was going to go check in on Isabel. Then the kids wanted to go home with him so I  said I'd stay here and he could come get me in the morning.  Now I'm accepting that we will likely all just head home after dinner.

I live here now.

Morning views.  I love it here.

Our first sleep in the Falcon went well. We got up today and managed through a new morning routine and had a lovely breakfast.  Onto the relaxing portion of this weekend.  My goal is literally to stay in my couch as much as possible and take in the view!

Mid Autumn Moon Festival

It was a gong show of packing. Laundry, house chores, Isabel care and cleanup, keeping everyone fed and keeping the normal schedule.  We definitely haven't relaxed in the last week.
A few weeks ago crazy man bought a gromet making kit at the thrift store.  Today he made carpets to wrap around the trailer stairs.  These are expensive in the rv shop, only a couple bucks to make his own.  He's quite pleased.

I gave up trying to work with the paper lanterns today and just pulled out the old ones from the last couple years.
Eric wanted to show me what the Wrangler would look like with the trailer behind.  Not as striking as behind the white and black van.
We dropped the trailer before picking up the boys from school.  It's so gorgeous here at Osborn Bay.  Cold but pretty.  We're just so grateful it's stopped raining.
We were a small group this year.  We had lots of laughs, the moon was fabulous and it's fun to be camping.
Credit to Eric for this photo.

Now we're in the new trailer for the first time. It's pretty cozy. Boys were asleep hours ago.  Eric crashed as soon as he layed down.  Jia is munching popcorn and I'm shockingly still awake.

Car Tv

Eric watches a lot of car shows.  The most boring tv in the history of time.  Haha.  Honestly, people monkey wrenching on camera.  Last night he recorded one for me.  And...I'm watching it with him.  Who am I?!

A 1979 CJ7 Renegade. The model before the Wrangler.  It's actually interesting.

Cervix

Ah, an update.  The Dr. found my cervix. Things are seriously tipped, likely from the colectomy. Yay.  Exploratory surgery didn't sound fun. No additional biopsies required at this point.  I don't have to go back until January.  The cervical cancer was cut out 10 years ago.

I had an appointment with the Endocrinologist today.  She actually asked me what I credited my improvements to.  Ah.  The meds?  Haha.  She is confused by me. It's weird not fitting type 1 or type 2.  I don't fit the norms.  She is still pushing for insulin versus the meds I'm on.  For now, another 3 month reprieve of keeping everything the same.  And she'd prefer I wore my alert bracelet.  I tend to forget it most of the time.
