I loved living by the river. We went often. It was an awesome walk with the dogs to the park down the road. We went to sleep to the sound of the rushing river every night. I grieved that sound when we moved to the city. I hear trucks on the highway from our place now. Doesn't help that the windows in our house are still old single pane in the upper story. Since we've moved we just haven't gone back very often. This year we seem to be going fairly regularily. It's nice. Calm and peaceful. Now if I could only find a way for us to go there without the kids 'needing' to get wet.
Debbie and Chris were camping there this past weekend so we went for a picnic dinner on Friday. Another chance for Jia and Emily to play together. They're soooo sweet together. They had a blast playing right at the rivers edge and of course throwing rocks is always fun.
