We started our day at city hall. Luk's issues are just mobility so he doesn't qualify for a das pass (disability assistance service). For him we have to go to the exit and request a return time. Usually the length of the current wait. Then we go back and enter through the exit. Catch is it's only good for six riders. Kai qualifies for the das pass. We have to find a kiosk with plaids to book rides for us then show up at the ride on time to enter in like a fast pass. Can only hold one spot at a time. All done on my phone attached to our tickets. Catch, it's only good for six riders. Second catch, when we arrive at the ride we still have to go through the exit for Luk's chair. So at city hall we discuss options, I end up getting tears welling because it feels all soooo unfair and it's super crowded and it's HARD to move with the boys. Kai is clinging to his strap on the chair. People are tripping on Luk, mostly because they attempt cutting around and don't factor his foot rests in. The girls follow our entourage. It looks like we have to split our tickets between parents phones using two apps and just hope we can get our times to mesh in the two systems. It would be even more frustrating and take a ton of time. The app isn't very friendly and it felt crazy. The tears had the lady at city hall take mercy. Plus Kai was behind me screatching and super excited about Micky Mouse (Mmackee Moudt). She put 7 of use on Kai's das pass. So off we go. Used the pass for Thunder Mountain. Worked great. Kai HATED the ride. Screamed "I get od now!" the whole time. Yikes. Next we went to Galaxies Edge. There were droids everywhere so we got to relax a bit Kai was happy to just hang out and point out droids. The rest of us thought it was pretty cool in there. Spectacularly done. The Olga's drinks were horrible. Lili enjoyed hers the rest of us not so much. The snacks were hillarious. Horrible but fun. No clue what it all was but we had some laughs trying it all. We wouldn't be great intergalactic travelers. The new ride was amazing. We got to fly the Millenium Falcon. Luk and I were chosen as pilots! Eric and Kai were gunners. The girls were on a different team. Ask Luk about his flying experience. Haha. I got to put us in hyper drive twice and start the engine. Flying was tough. My side did up and down, Luk did side to side. He hit everything. There was a lot of explosions and destruction. At the end the ride tallies up the cost of repairs. Luk said "ya, I guess so!". So then we found a kiosk, reserved Splash Mountain. Made it to Splash. Girls declined going on. We donned our rain ponchos, did the whole exit thing. Then the ride went down. Can't get a new time because they don't know how long they'll be down. No kiosk near by. Go to Haunted get a call back time using Luk's system. 70 minutes. Can't go on another ride because we're in a virtual cue. Lili suggests we go watch the parade. That was nuts. We're in crowds, no one is moving. People are six deep and all touching, there is NO chance we can find a spot. Wheelchair spots are FULL. Eric is attempting to get help with no success. There was a woman there in a suit with an iPad she asked what was happening. Eric told her about the frustrating system and being turned away at Pirates. She talked to me for a while. Asked lots of questions. I told her it was really hard fighting in a park for equal rights non stop. Unable to physically move. It was 3 and we'd only managed three rides. New system NOT working. There were tears. Ok...so ya'll...I had a decent meltdown in the street by the castle. I don't think Lili, Fei and Jia could believe what was happening. Our management lady asked how she could make things right. Offered to walk us on Pirates. After being denied the option to do the line would have felt right but Kai knew there was a parade coming and was leaping around and squawking and flapping about "A Paid! A Paid". I asked if there was a way or spot for the boys to watch the parade. No problem. She sat us down in the reservation area. Which is normally empty with chairs roped off. Reserved for special guests. And famous people. I don't know who was with us but one guy had people trying to take selfies with him :) Another fellow beside us looked like an athlete. We didn't know them though. But it was fun for the girls. Kai was over the top to see all the characters. I stopped trying to control/shush him and just let him exclaim like a mad fool. Disney magic for him. We made it back to Haunted. Then used the das system for Pirates and Indiana Jones. We hid the wheelchair and did the Jungle Cruise by walking the regular lines like the other peeps. Was ok for a short line would be WAY too much for Luk to do all day. Tiki room was accessible. Then we saw the castle light up and it snowed on us. More magic. Finally the long walk out and uber's back. Phew. Had a chat with Mom before bed. We read our Night Before Christmas story, our stockings were hung by Douglas Fir with care and the boys went to sleep with light sabers. That I brought from home. I did feel heard and I was assured that my feedback on the system would be heard and passed on. She told me that our aging population is causing a lot of use on the assistance program but she agrees families shouldn't be split to use a system especially when there were two members needing such separate help. Fingers crossed we can make the system work for us for the next couple days. Ohhhh and mobile food ordering!! What?! Amazing. Use the app, order...pay...text tells you when it's ready. Pick up. Soooo easy. Hardly anyone using it yet so no line. We can't ever go back. Haha. Not all spots have it but we're joking that if we can't order on the app we'll eat somewhere else. Not sure when I'll load photos but eventually they'll get here. Back to sleep for now.
Someone loves their light up light sabre. Kai.
