Dakota/Kody and Kai have been a good match.
The smiles :)
Drawing Mario mushrooms with chalk.
Our tye-dye project. We opted for a starburst pattern. Kai wanted matching. Awe. They're low on colors so we didn't quite get things to his majesty's specifications.
He didn't touch a thing. Just barked out orders.
He contemplated going in but instead sat on the edge having fun shouting at anyone who dared splash him.
The staff are beyond fabulous. So great with the campers.
This is the last camp of the year. Most of the staff have left already. They normally have 50 to 60 campers with two counselors per six kids. This weekend is 16 campers and 8 councilors. We had 3 campers in our group. Kai and Kody hung with Josh. The other boy Johhan really can't stay still and we've barely seen him or his family.
There is a tiny beach that is nicely gated.
Shockingly Kai told Josh he wanted to go on the slide. He loves slides. I tried explaining that he would shoot out into 'water'. Josh promised he would grab him and off they went.
I got out of the lake to get pictures. I didn't believe he'd really do it.
Then he was stuck. Haha. Figures. With a little coaxing from a few people he jumped out.
There was some gagging and sputtering and he clung so tight to Josh that I'm not really sure how he got him to shore. There was a lot of clapping and shouting from other families. That was pretty cool.
According to Kai he almost drowned.
He did stay in the life jacket and did some floating and kicking after.
When we were leaving the beach he said "it's been a good day Mom". That alone was a bit of a miracle. Sob.
I'm so glad we came.
Kai's favorite spot here. I had a wee nap while he played games.
We've had a good time here.
The food has been good.
Kai wants to come again!
We've met some really lovely people.
