Our offroad, remote camping to Side Bay starts now. The day got moved to Thursday and we rolled with that. Then this morning it was moved to noon versus after dinner. So we had to really boogie to get ourselves ready.
It's not organized in the least and guaranteed we forgot something.
Last minute we were asked to bring extra fuel and a chainsaw too.
Check out Oscar's new backpack!
Eric is calling it the Jumanji pack.
I expect we'll lose cell service in a couple hours.
This is definitely an adventure for the books and well into the crazy realm.
I could have crammed more in ;)
In other news.
Luk is well. He was sore yesterday but doing ok today. He had a pediatrician appointment this morning and Children's called and checked up on him already.
While we were in Disneyland I could see on the Ring camera that Eric was driving Onyx. I did ask why and suggest he not. I don't like sharing Onyx. Haha. Anyways. We got home and I jumped in her to take Jia to work and Onyx was dead. Not even a click. So I promptly texted him and said "Onyx is dead, you killed her."
Turns out the second stop/start battery drained the main and they are both dead. Not Eric's fault. Just time. Today we got new batteries at All Battery. Fingers crossed. She will need a code reset. I was hoping to do a Canada Day Jeep run on Tuesday. A Port Renfrew Loop suitable for the Pavement Princess. We're not sure when we get home from this crazy camping trip but hopefully with enough time on Monday to get the code cleared for Tuesday.
Oh, and Jia has covid. A lovely souvenir from the trip. If we count back the days she likely got it on the flight down. So far the rest of us are good, no sign of anything. The new variant hits your throat and that is what is bothering Jia the most.
Not the best start. Pouring rain in Nanaimo! Ew.
Three Jeeps cancelled. So just us, Ben on his own and Jeff who may or may not be on his own.
