Rock Cod

Eric has been going full tilt here.  Crazy busy.  Lots getting done while preparing for Mom's move in.  We're getting tired.  So dinner out last night.  The Rock Cod is open again.  Fei is back to work.  

I ordered boots for the wee ones.  They're hard to put on.  Sasha was more agreeable than Coco.

We tidied the porch yesterday, preparing for the allowed socially distanced porch visits.  DM and Al coming tonight.  We're insanely excited.  Furniture looks weird this way.  Lili found me outside getting some sun.

Look how she's standing.  Hillarious.  Totally enthralled watching the world go by.  Three of the cats were milling around, intrigued by the furniture move.  

Solving our biggest problem.

It was crazy hat day today at school.  The boys teacher had the kids make paper hats last week.  Today Kai was up at 5.  I didn't realize it was because he was excited.  I mean it's just hats.  Then when I dropped the kids at school Kai leaped out yelling "Yay, Party, Ice Cream!".  I said "oh no buddy, I don't think there's ice cream".  Then quickly looked at Luk who said no there wasn't.  Kai was distraught and ran away from us bawling.  I called Eric.  He agreed I should alert the school.  I emailed his EA.  She let me know the principal was giving ice cream to the hat winners.  Oy.  So we made sure to have ice cream treats here tonight for Kai.  He brought his hat home and was absolutely delighted to finally have his ice cream.  I spent a half hour on the phone today with a friend whose son was in emerg most of yesterday because he's suicidal.  So I'm feeling super crazy grateful that our biggest problem today was ice cream!  In other news...Lili and Fei's two room suite is approved for September and Dr. Bonnie is allowing groups of 10 to gather outside.  Yay!!

Luk made breakfast today :)  Tonight he came grocery shopping with Eric and I.  He was a big help.  

Back Up Plans

Miss Fei applied today for two back up plans.  Yay.  An exploratory year and to an animal care aide program.  Both at VIU.

We also got a grad dress fitting appointment booked for spring break.  It's happening.  My little girl is graduating and moving onto university in 6 months!

Lili mentioned on her 19th Birthday that she didn't feel older but was feeling some pressure to start adulting.  Haha.  

Dawn-Marie sent me this picture from school today.  Kai has a hot wheels track in braile.

He brought one home yesterday and we all took turns feeling it.  He's pretty excited about it.  He's showing the principal here.

This is the scene I came home to yesterday.  Eric and I took turns cutting.  Jia finally has the cut she wanted.  

I can't stop staring at her.  So brave.  So beautiful.  

University in person.

University is going back to in person instruction in Sept.  Lili got her notification this afternoon.  We don't have Fei's official acceptance yet.  Assuming she'll be in.  Lili and Fei both sent in applications for a shared suite in the same housing complex Lili was in before.  Exciting times for both of them.  

Really hitting me today that Fei will be moving out too. 

Lili is 19!!

Lili thought this would be a fun game to play for her B-day.  We didn't have time.  She also wanted to see the new Disney movie.  I paid the premium for it but we didn't have time to see it.  Planning to watch with dinner tomorrow night.

19 bars. She's set for a while.  

Lili and I went out after lunch to Chemainus to pick up her chosen dessert.  Pecan cheesecake pie from Pie Me.  We stopped for gas and a right of passage, the right to gamble.  $19 of scratch tickets.

Gramma watched the littles so we could go out.  Lili arranged the baby sitting.  Eric and I went bar hopping with her.  She didn't know which pub to pick for dinner, so we decided to go to three of them.  Quick stop at the Rock Cod first.

We shared a meal at each place.

I'm the worst at parking.  Seriously.  Lili isn't any better.  I whipped in this spot so perfectly.  We all laughed and I proudly took a photo.

The Oak Tap House. A not virgin Polar Bear.  She hated it and she refused the next beer.  Haha.  Eric was having fun trying all the local brews.  He might have preferred someone imbibing with him.  I told him I would drive him and a buddy to the brew pub another night.  Then he asked if I would drive them pub hopping to eat/drink at all of them.  I gave him a look of horror.  That doesn't sound so fun for me.  Haha.

Third dinner.  What a fun way to eat.

Another right of passage.  A liquor run, for Mom and Dad.  

Home to win her millions.  I think she won a few dollars.  

In other news.  Eric made more house discoveries he wasn't thrilled about.  So he stripped his downstairs workshop and is rebuilding it.  It won't be a shop anymore.  No clue what it will become.

Back to building the bathroom in Fei's new room.  Project held up by a completely smashed sink.  

Another Rosie update.  She barked today. She is just sooo cute. 

Shannon and Ken are motorhome shopping.  We met them today so Eric could crawl all over one with Ken.  There is another couple with a deposit on it ahead of them.  Fingers crossed the other couple backs out.  

Was so nice to get out doing a normal thing.

Long day.  These two were really ready for bed tonight.

We filled it with Cheerios and it was a big hit!  So fun.  

Our first dog walk of the year.  Sasha normally walks for a couple minutes and then insists on being picked up.  Fei and I were going to walk Isabel and Coco but Sasha is the one that needs the walk the most so Eric agreed to take her.  Awe.  She did great.  Eric was definitely letting Fei and I know his dog was the lady of the bunch ;)

Eric bathed Isabel today and did her nails.  She was all shiny and soft.  Then like a lady she was leg lift marking every chance she could.  You could say she was a little excited to get back to the smells.  

I got to walk crazy girl.  Haha.  Total nut.  No clue about traffic.  She was just flying forward motion with zero thought.  She zig zagged in front of me the whole way.  I think she covered triple the ground the rest of us did.

Jia created her own pattern with melty beads for this character.  

We love getting Rosie updates.  She's doing great.
