We had our group get together on Saturday. We did a group private guided tour of Chinatown in Victoria and then dinner at Mings.
The weather was perfect. The walk was very interesting. I think everyone enjoyed the walking tour. There are ghost tours available that a few of the families are interested in. Also a White Jade Tiger tour. Lili has read the book and done the tour. It would be a great group event if we could get all the kids to read the book first.
We learned lots of little bits we didn't already know. We also got to visit the only Chinese temple in these parts. It was pretty cool.
We also learned how to play Fan Tan. I think there might be some gambling happening at our place as soon as we have time. Check out Fei's fab hair flip in the picture of the kids in front of the Chinese Public School.
I brought Chinese pineapple cakes for snacks. Almost everyone declined. Three of the kids liked them, Luk was one of them ;) He was so sweet covered in crumbs. Usually he's pretty neat and tidy when he eats.
Dinner was loud and chaotic as usual. Food was good enough. Service was great. Overall everyone seemed to have a good time.
