I love Universal. The drive was longer than expected and the park closed at 6. We were concerned about getting to everything so made a priority list. They are fabulous about wheelchairs and there was no line for us the whole day. We ended up doing everything in five hours!
For character pictures we were ushered to the front of the line. When we approached ride lines we were directed to the wheelchair entrance. A couple times we were blessed by staff. They were all so friendly and helpfull. There is a shuttle to get from upper/lower levels, the men folk helping us were compassionate with everyone. There were two scooters, two chairs and a stroller on one trip, the fellow took in all the needs for space and transferring and sorted us all in the shuttle.
I love Disney too but they could seriously go to Universal and get some lessons.
Harry Potter land was fabulous. They have parent switch rooms right at the end where you get on. So the boys got to do the Hogwarts part. Worked great. Plus everyone else in the group got to go twice :) We ate lunch at Hogmeads and ended our time there with butter beer. Yum.
Then we did the animal actors show. I grinned through the whole thing. Dogs, cats, owls, hawk, assorted other birds, rats, racoon, pig, and a heard of ginea pigs. The wee ginea pigs were the funniest. They were supposed to run across the stage but two didn't go, so a hand came out and gave a bum push to get them going. You probably had to be there. Funny.
The best part of the day was likely meeting not one but two transformers! The boys were thrilled. My boys are both extremely compliant and they never ask for anything. It's hard to really 'know' what they'd like to do. So it was out of character to see the level of excitement about meeting transformers. From both of them! If you want to hear about it ask them. I've never seen Kai talk so much. He gets going so fast with hands going and he's so animated that even I can't figure what he's saying but you can totally tell he's passionate about it! He has asked a couple times to to see his picture with Bumblebee! We weren't really sure if he knew he was in the pictures we take that he hates posing for. He knows. He just needed Bumblebee for it to matter.
We ended our day outside of the park at Bubba Gumps. What fun. Total party. Kids all had a good time. Even if they didn't know about Forest Gump. Food was good too.
Eric, Lili and Fei headed out after they settled us into bed. Four of us crashed! I didn't wake to them coming back. Woke up at 4 and they're here. So not really sure where they went.
Next is California Adventure. Cars ride here we come! Luk and Kai are tall enough. Kai is going to completely lose it when he meets Lightning McQueen. We're all excited to see him do a meet and greet!
