Mornings are for exploring with the boys. No chance Jia is getting up that early.

This family isn't very keen to get in the ocean here. So much gunge. Was there always so much gunk when we were kids? I was just reading about all the sea life death through the heat wave. Makes getting in the water even more gross.
Kai hates fun golf. He was adamant he wasn't going. I was adamant we were all going to share fun family time. He cried and pouted. A lot. Then, he grabbed the putter and took off. We had already agreed no rules, no scores.
The putter was often backwards and was more of a hockey stick or pool cue but the ball moved. Not always towards the end. Kai couldn't find the holes but he could see the bright orange ball. He wasn't hating it. He made it 15 holes before melting down. We'll call this one a win ;)
We were all super hot after fun golfing so we needed an excuse to stay in the car with ac. We went to Tim's for frozen lemonade. Right next door is an rv lot with the moho on it that was so close. I thought it sold weeks ago but there it was. We took the kids to see. They didn't even want to get out of the car. It's close but not worth the hassle of the change. However the Dolphin right next to it is worth considering. Ticks almost all the boxes. It was just out of contract and the sellers were there picking it up. We got a grand tour with them. It's prettier on the outside, layout is perfect, has the right engine and transmission. Kids liked it but overall we all agree we prefer ours in the inside. I think. Maybe.
Went to Port Alberni to hang out.

Eric and I walked the Quay with Finn. The kids all declined getting out of the car. This was Finn's first time actually 'walking' on a leash. There is hope!!
Fei and Lili went with their work peeps to the river before joining us on their day off. They took Sasha. It was hard to watch her go with them. She does like swimming though ;)
The girls all wanted to try the drive in. Food was great again. Noticed a couple cars of people at the Quay with food from the drive in.
Next to walk the boardwalk in Parksville.
Bedtime. Too hot to bother with the fire.
A movie in our bedroom! Bizarre. It was a long day. I made it through about a third of Dirty Dancing. Jia was watching with us. So many questions. Hopefully we can finish over the next few nights.
Today we took off exploring. This is our only day to just be us. Here all together for a holiday day. Not a lot of picture taking. Trying to relax.
