We were better prepared for today. Had parking, doors, directions and safety precautions down like we owned the place ;) Instead of marching us around specialist to specialist we were put in one room and they came to us. Pediatrician, physical therapist, occupational therapist, neurologist, urologist, orthopedic surgeon, health nurse and ultrasound today. Phew. So much information in one day!! Luk is still best case spina bifida. Super strong. Very healthy. MRI was great no change on his shunt that seems to be working fabulously and there was improvement in the rings of fluid on his spine. It's inexplicably reduced. Which explains how he's managing to hike, walk for hours now. Prayers it stays that way for him. His tibia muscle is pulling too tight. So strong it overtakes the other muscles which is causing his feet to turn in too much so he's been prescribed orthotics. Alternative is to inject botox to relax the muscle and let the others take over. Not too much else going on. Waiting on surgery consults to see if he's a candidate for toileting help. We're back in November. I preferred the one year visits we were moved to just before covid. But, back to 3 months this time. I think so he can have a urodynamics test to get his new meds figured out correctly.
Lunch at Tsawwassen Mills. Turns out our boy loves sushi. Then some school clothes shopping for him.
When you work and can afford super luxurious splurges like a new Kate Spade bag.
Melted chocolate. Freaky heat waves.
We're on a medical pass for the ferry. Supposed to go home the same route but there is a 3 car sailing wait and the ship is two hours behind schedule. Yikes. The ticket lady took mercy and put us on a Victoria sailing.
