We got the Christmas card family photo done. Poor Kai cried through the whole thing. He made it through one photo. He didn't like the sound of the flash popping and jumped and squealed every time. He was unsuccessfully trying to keep the tears under control. We did get a great photo, trickery and the angle helped Kai look more like he had fake grimace/smile versus tears. Jia was tortured too. She was mortified someone would see her in Walmart in stupid, dorky, ugly matching onsies being super lame with her family. She complained bitterly at home and then all the way there. Fun. The rest of us had a good time and a laugh or two. I'll post the winning photo closer to Christmas. We were able to select it right then and there. It was available online almost immediately and I have already ordered copies through London Drugs.
Our TV died right in the middle of a show. Eric and I sat silently waiting for wifi to kick back on or things to reset. No such luck. After a lot of online researching and plugging and unplugging and resetting we finally accepted it was dead dead with no power. I wasn't sleeping well, I had some problems to ruminate on, so I used my middle of the night awake time to research which tv we wanted. We weren't thrilled to need a new TV but prices are certainly getting better and sooo many fun options now. We went with a Google TV this time. The Samsung smart TV that died from 2014 didn't have nearly as many options on it.
It's only a few inches bigger but wouldn't fit on our TV cabinet. Side feet versus a middle stand. So we had to change things up. Eric was super delighted with me taking his picture. I was stuck at home waiting on a work UPS delivery for the day so I sent him to town to pick up the TV in the afternoon. The hope was it would be here and plugged in so Lili could help set it up while she was home. The plan worked ;) She does talk to us like we're clueless and repeats things to us. Haha. So far we haven't had to call for any reminders.
I wanted a Nativity set this year. The thrift store provided one I really liked but when we got home we discovered poor Joseph was missing a hand.
It took Eric a few days but he made him a new hand. It definitely looks like a prosthetic hand but I'm thrilled for Joseph. Eric was joking about how attached the two have become. Joseph is happily back in place with his peeps now.
Most important news of the day...the boys are vaccinated!! Luk was a champ. Utterly shocked that it was over so fast and he says on a scale of 1 to 10 it's a 1. Eric had Kai at the other end of the clinic. He yelled a lot. Then Eric reported that his scream was actually from the nurse touching his arm before the shot. He wasn't thrilled and of course he has no clue why we put him through that.
We brought some home for Jia. She declared them stupid and gross but she quietly ate them after we left the room. 11 is hard. Oh, and the biebs are good.
Jia did try a trade last week. I got this picture off her Freshgrade.
