The adventure begins!
Fei managed to get Jia to school. Luk's supplies arrived as we were leaving. Perfect timing. We got all the necessary chores done. The getting out part was a wee bit smoother than our usual flurry of last minute things. Funny bit. We're in the car ready to pull out of the yard and Eric says we should check the lights. I leapt out and they weren't coming on at all. Neither of us said a thing. Just stood there for a second staring at each other. Then Eric got busy fiddling and quickly discovered the Jeep lights have to be turned on for the trailer lights to work (not just running lights). Weird but manageable, hopefully we remember.
Lunch on the boat and I'm starving.
Oh, and leaving Kai at school was rough. There were tears. Sob. He was definitely upset. A friend was texting me later and I told her and she said "aw, real feelings". I mean, yes, of course but likely fully wrapped up in ulturism. We'll make a point of having the other kids bring him a phone so he can talk to us during the week.
