The pool is open.
Yay. Jia was delighted to have Fei all to herself for two good swims tonight. She can touch the bottom this year.
Luk was equally excited to see water in his pool too. The beginning of those lazy summer days.
A mom from school posted a picture of Fei running in the local district track meet.

Lili is off to camp.
Stathacona here she comes. The pack is 27lbs! The list was crazy long for each kid.
Hope she has a great time!
Stuck around home most of the weekend. Trying to stay cool. Laundry is all caught up. Eric has a cold or allergies. Hard to tell because it's the man version. Kids and I escaped this evening and cooled down at a park by the ocean.
Luk is in bed. Jis is in the bath and I think it will be an early night for the rest of us.

Shopping
Lili needed a few things for her school camping trip. So we went shopping after work/school today.
We managed to find everything she needed. Had a great dinner out at the Chinese place that has the best tapioca in the world. Kids ate well, knowing there was tapioca coming ;) Then we hit Walmart because the girls rain pants are missing and it's the only place we could think of that stood a chance of having any. Sadly they only had them in men's small which were still huge on her. I'll take a stab again at finding them on the weekend. Fei had them on her school trip not that long ago. Weather is supposed to be great, I vote she goes without them. Then we hit shoes, so many cute shoes on sale. Two pairs for Fei, one for Jia and Lili and four pairs for Luk. Then I found my new suitcase...couldn't have dreamt up a better one. Ours are all toast. They don't fair well through air travel. I like this one so much it might have to stay home looking pretty in the luggage cupboard.

23rd Wedding Anniversary
Sort of the anniversary that wasn't. We celebrated 23 years last year but 23 years was actually this year.
The big girls had dance tonight so we met Penny and girls for Chinese food. Then after dance we celebrated China's Children's Day with chocolate chills from Tim's.
Luk had an ultra sound scan this morning to look for his testicles. He did great. He even quite liked the warm jelly in his privates. When we were leaving the hospital he said "that was fun". A couple hours after the scan his pediatrician called to confirm that both of his testicles are undecended and he needs surgery. Sigh. Now off to read about how they fix that instead of waiting for the surgeon to tell us. He has a consult for July 8.

New Park
We tried a new park today after our last kinder music class. Kids enjoyed it. Giant sand pit that we weren't expecting and tons of bark mulch. Ick, so not my fave. Luk of course sat right down in the sand and within minutes had it every where. He really needed his bath tonight :) There was a sand digger too. Jia was intent on figuring it out.
Spent the rest of the day at home. Eric was working on fixing his canoe. Redoing the seats. We're all looking forward to going padding together.

School Fun Fair
Kids had a great time, especially Jia. Luk was overwhelmed, once there was candy involved, that was all that mattered. He was pretty happy to hang quietly with Gramma and I at ticket sales for the bulk of the night ;) The girls all took off with friends. Jia was taking advantage of the blow up slide, bouncy house and giant slide.
I'm just happy to be home.
