Kai happily slept last night through all the excitement. We had neighbors beside us having a guy beer fest. They woke us up pounding on doors. There was a ton of yelling, swearing and graphic lewd talk. Jia and Luk were awakened and wide eyed. More education on the road. Sigh. And then Jia saw a bug on the wall near our head board. Which she insisted was a bed bug and she refused to come back to bed so she slept with Kai on the floor.
This morning at breakfast she drew the bug and size and Eric and I are sure it was an azalea bug. Super common in California. There are even notes around the hotel suggesting to keep the doors closed to keep them out. Drama. We stupidly told her that we've seen beatles the size of mice here. Now Jia is on a serious bug look out. Haha.
I did leave our dear neighbors a note when we left. I told them the mother and children next door now know way too much about their d*@ks. To have a nice day. Have some shame and be MUCH nicer to the women in their lives. Jia was mortified of course.
Luk and Jia really weren't sure what most of the words meant and they were just annoyed at swear words keeping them up. Loud yelling men were scary to them.
Then lots and lots of driving. Through the interesting scenic parts. Lots more napping for Jia and I. 21 hours of driving. Eric is amazing.
We stopped at our fave nut stop for snacks.
We started at 9am and got here around 6. Super old hotel near Knotts. All needs are met and the beds are comfy. We ubered in dinner. Panda Express. Did a Luk flush and bandage clean. Now watching the original Clueless and trying to get Kai to bed. We have a full free day tomorrow. So many options.
