Nanaimo River.
We were attempting to check out Nanaimo Lake camp grounds. They're gated. Bummer. You need a scan code to get in.
We hit Woodgrove for some gift shopping and lunch.
Courtenay beach.
Dole Whip!!
Totally worth the drive.
We found Loon Lake.
We were able to drive in and check out the camp ground.
It's new. Lovely. We're hoping to make it there this year.
Kai hates wearing his glasses. He avoids looking through them to the point of almost 100% looking over the top rim. So, we allowed him to skip wearing them today. It turns out the photo-grey helps because he was squinting all day. Haha. He still insists life is better without them.
Getting an accurate prescription is extremely difficult. He can't see in a reflection which is how they test him as well as they use letters at his age but he isn't so great about getting the letters right in the best of times. We've made an appointment for June with a different ophthalmologist instead of using the specialist office Kai see every six months.
Into Port Alberni to the drive-in for onion rings ;)
We went to the Harbour to use the washrooms and found this beauty for sale on the way out. Sigh. One day. We're staying put for now though.
We had some fun in a Dollarama. I've been looking for a wee shelf for the Cheese kitchen and we got this little set up.
The boys picks were the tiniest nerf waterguns we've ever seen. Luk was thrilled with the cuteness and wanted them for Cheese.
These two stayed home today. Fei had homework and wanted to do laundry. Jia wants to be where Fei is. They play the same game online with one of Fei's friend. Right now this is Jia's hyperfocus. So cute. So much squealing while they play.
All in all, it was a pretty great day.
Back to real life tomorrow.
