Sock Monkeys

Dressing the family as sock monkeys for Halloween in Disneyland.  I've been collecting grey for the whole family.  The last thing we needed was work sox for the littles.  I've spent abnormal amounts of time shopping for sox in stores, malls and online.  I reached the point of planning to just sew white and red strips on their pants.  Tonight I found men's work sox in the dollar store!  Can cut the foot off and attach to their pants.  Now I just need plain grey sox for them.  Oh the things I find exciting.

Tutoring

Did I mention that the girls have a piano tutoring gig this summer.  They start today.  Good luck girls!

Convo with Kai

Yesterday Mom and I were out and about with the boys.  We were checking out of Walmart and Mom was ahead of me. Kai scooted up with her and was playing with the shopping bags hanging and for sale.  I asked him not to touch.  Gramma gave me the Gramma look that said "he's not hurting them, why can't he touch".  So I said "if you turn your head you might turn back to find he has the bag over his head".  Kai said "No no no".  I said "Kai" and he turned his back to me, sluffed his foot, looked down, put his finger in the air and said "well it was just one time".  I've been chuckling about it since.  The really great news is he remembers the bag on head incident and knows not to do it again.  Kids are hillarious.

China Rule Changes

We are NOT adopting again.  We don't want to adopt again.  There are NO plans to adopt again.  And ... I still panicked about the new rules announced today.  As though it would affect us.  Crazy.  So, new rule is only five kids in the house, only one at a time and one year apart on adoptions.

So sigh of relief that we're still ok.  Which is crazy because we're not adding to our family/chaos.

That said, my heart breaks for all the kiddos staying in orphanages longer.  There are so many families in process waiting for further clarification. Hoping they're all grandfathered in!

Lessons

Lili is learning to mow lawn on the lawn tractor tonight.  The boys and I have been lounging on the couch swing watching Lili do circles. Enjoying some summer lazy time.

Bb8

Jia and Fei are on a mission to make a BB8.

Canada Day

Camping with friends.  Busy!  Hard to keep up, lots of chaos and lots of laughs.

First night there and Lili tells us she left her bedroom window open.  So I drove back.  Nice part of camping in our own town. Shannon and Deanna came for the cool drive and a Menchies break.
Jerry Maple Moose.  He was awesome!  Lit up the whole campsite.  Cool Gramma score.
Cards by the light of Jerry.
Jia and Kalum, best buddies for life.  They are incredibly sweet together.
Morning theater.  Monsters Inc.
Loving all that Canadian Spirit!
Beatiful girl :)
Day 2 escape. Despicable Me 3. We spent the day at the river and then went to a 5 o'clock movie.  Late dinner.  Movie was hillarious.  Boys were great.  I think we finally have this movie thing down.
River Tubing. First time for the girls. It was even Penny's 1st time. They all loved it.
Looked like so much fun.
The little crew...left behind.
So exciting to see them coming around the bend.
Fluke on Dagon's matching muscle shirt.
Such cute muscle poses!
Evening stroll.
