Cars 3

We went opening night.  Fabulous movie.  We all enjoyed it.  Kids and I took my Dad.  Still couldn't talk Eric into coming.  I know I said I wouldn't take Kai back to the theater but it was Lightning McQueen and he loves Lightning McQueen or as he says Ightinngg AhEeenn!!  So we did lots of talking about expectations and firm instructions about eat, drink, done. He was great until Lightning McQueen came on the screen and he started screaming.  I got him shushed quickly and then he sat good as gold for the rest of the movie!!  Love.  Luk was quiet too.  Lots of praise afterwards. 

I noticed later on Disneyland's Facebook that Cruz Remirez is now there.  Can't wait to meet her.  Will be so fun to see Kai realize he's standing beside Lightning, Mator and Cruz.

Slime

The slime thing has been on Jia's mind for weeks! 

So some kid at school was making slime and selling it for $1 a bag.  But for reasons unknown she told Jia she wouldn't sell to her because she was in grade 2.  She had her loonie ready. Gets crazier because apparently the mom came to school to drop off more one day.  Running a business. 

When Lili's grade did a business project where they had to produce something to sell I asked her to get Jia some slime.  Which she did and all was good for a week. 

Then Jia went to YouTube (of course) and learned how to make slime and the daily request for Borax began.  Sigh.  Both Eric and I have managed to forget the Borax many times each.  Poor kid has been totally put out by this.  Yesterday Fei remembered the Borax when we were at Walmart.

So then we moved onto Jia begging to make the slime.  I thought we could wait for the weekend.  Jia does not.  She finally talked Fei into helping her.

They're already onto batch #2.  Making some for the boys.

Jia has determination.  Serious determination.  Relentless. 

Comfortable?

We find Kai in the strangest positions.  Luk caught in the no no W.

Gait Lab

Luk and Eric went to the gait lab at Sunnyhill today (Sunnyhill is connected to Children's ).  Long day for them.  Eric's phone was dying so not sure what he got for pictures.  If only he carried a purse with a charger ;) 

Keeping her eye on me.

When it's been a long day, and you've been at Gramma's for dinner and Dad and Luk are away, and you missed blankie and tabby and you want to cuddle with Mom but she's too busy running all over so you find a spot where you can keep an eye on Mom while wearing her new camping boots.

Piano Exam

The nerves.  Holey cow do these two ever sweat the exams.  Makes me a nervous wreck and they're good.  Totally prepared.  Emergency lesson last night with a mock exam and they were both told they were an easy pass.  And yet, still stressed way beyond my comfort level.  I think they must like the drama of it.  Lili said Fei did an awesome exam and Fei said Lili did great too.  I don't really know what I'm listening for but it all sounded good to me.  They got their theory exam marks this morning. 93 for Lili and 86 for Fei.  Which is beyond amazing since they both thought they bombed the whole thing. Looking forward to the practical marks in a few weeks.

Eric was off to Sunnyhill with Luk today.  Mom had to pick Jia and Kai up from school today so I could take Lili and Fei to Shawnigan.  We were really spread out today.

Kai's first time at anyone's house without either of us.  He did great by Gramma's report.  When I got there his face was a full range of emotions.  He settled on being ok.  Yay.  Then Eric phoned to let us know he'd be on the 7 ferry and I had him say goodnight to Kai.  Mistake.  He crumbled the second he heard Daddy.  Was crying and waving at the phone.  He likes me ok but he totally needs Eric.  He calmed down with the promise of some tv before bed.  He usually falls asleep right away.  I can hear him tossing and turning.  Hoping he sleeps before Luk gets home because that won't be until 10!!  Late night for little Luk!!

Park

At the Nanaimo park for a picnic dinner and walk.  We tried the playground after dinner. Eric went to the car with Luk, the rest of us went to the playground.  By the time Eric caught up Kai had taken his shoes off 8 times! Pebbles. Fallen down three times and fallen off a climbing structure.  He was in tears from frustration so I declared it time to leave for our walk.  Sometimes it just doesn't work.  Luk and Jia thankfully took it in stride.
