Apple Tree

Who knew you could have so much fun letting the rattykins run around in the apple tree!  We wanted to get some photos of them by the flowers but they had so much fun running around it was hard to get pictures with them moving so fast.

Mom, we got your e-mail.  It was great to hear from you, glad you figured out the system on board.  I e-mailed back to your ship account, not sure if that works.  Fei was thrilled to hear there were polar bears at your pool.  The girls are all fine.  We did let them run around the back yard on Sunday night right after Eric mowed the lawn...um...that was a mistake.  They were all green!!  Alien green.  Who knew that would happen to little white feets.  Anyways, it made for a long evening, Lili and I got in the bath and bathed all three of them (one at a time of course).  Fei and Eric stayed around to help and dry them off.  They all did great.  I think Meili sorta liked her bath after her heart rate slowed down.  We draped the couches in blankets so the wet dogs could lay with us before bed.  Priya gives the best hugs.  She's getting better at getting the hugs without licking me.  They are seriously tired.  Last night we had a heck of a time waking them for bed :)  Lili and Fei have to carry them up now.  They no longer even lift their heads when Eric, Lacie and I go to bed later.  They have also given up all guard duty to Lacie and she is taking the job even more seriously than ever before.

We meet with the school today to discuss Fei and then we meet with her new pediatrician on Thursday.  Last week I met with her social worker from the ministry.  Things are really moving along.  The label really is magic.  She is getting more comfortable with the label and is starting to ask questions.  Fei doesn't want Lili at her appointment on Thursday so Avery is babysitting Lili after school and Lili is pretty excited about that.   Tammy, Ty and Avery are taking her home with them from school.  I think most everyone knows that Fei is autistic.  For anyone just joining us here is a wee recap.  We've known since she was 3 when she was diagnosed as SID sensory integration disorder by infant development and then at 5 she was diagnosed as Aspurger's by her pediatrician but the school doesn't accept medical diagnosis so Fei has undergone more extensive testing by child development in Nanaimo and her new official diagnosis is ASD PDD-NOS Autistic Spectrum Disorder - Pervasive Developmental Delay - Not Otherwise Specified.   She is high functioning in some areas and quite low in others.  We're hopeful that with early intervention we can help her find lots of coping skills and tools to help her deal with life.  I'm relieved to finally be able to access the help for her.

Update:  The meeting at the school went great, Eric and I were both impressed with all of the information we received today.  All is good there.

There are no rumors yet!  There should be some.  Patterns would suggest the next batch will arrive next week but usually there are rumors first.  The May group is a pretty excited group these days.  Lili is just desperate for her sister these days.  LOTS of talking about her.

Funny kid stuff, I found a huge worm in the driveway this morning and went to get the kids to show them.  Lili wanted to take him to school for show and tell tomorrow but was too scared to pick him up.  I told her she had to do it, Fei was offering but I insisted Lili should do it.  While Fei and I were coaxing Lili to just do it,  Maoduke sauntered up, picked him up and gave him a shake!  Ewww.   I personally wouldn't ever touch that worm and now it was oozing and Lili was freaking.  What a morning.  Daddy to the rescue, he got him into Lili's kleenex box filled with dirt and he is now resting comfortably in a dark cool spot in our house so that Lili can show him off tomorrow at school.  Oh my.  Does this mean we have a new pet worm?  Because you just KNOW that by the time Lili gets home today that worm will have a name and I just know that today at school she'll be investigating how to care for a worm and what they eat.

Update:  Slimey (named by Fei) sadly passed away yesterday and wasn't able to make his debut at school for Lili's show and tell.  Maoduke appears to be showing no remorse.

Mom and Dad's dogs

Hey Mom, the girls are fine.  They've settled in nicely.  They are exhausted.  They are ready to crash by 6:30 or 7.  More than ready for bed by the time Lili and Fei take them up.  They never ask to go outside, they have to be coaxed out.  I wonder if it's because there is no glass for them to see out of.  Meili met the rats up close and personal and wasn't impressed.  So far they've slept through the nights.  They aren't sure who to follow so when we're all over the place they run back and forth between us all.  Hope the cruise is going well.  No worries here.

Looks like the 17th

Referrals are arriving for up to April 17th.  I love referral time.  Group 18 is in China right now.  They get their babies tomorrow.  All four of us have been reading their blogs together.  So exciting.  There are only two families in group 18.  I think there is one other family left in group 19 with us.  We haven't met them yet.
