Lili's last shift.

Tradition to get floured when you leave the Rock Cod. The staff came in a car parade, decorated with balloons and banners.  Such a sweet send-off. So many hugs and lots of tears.  Lili is super emotional.  She doesn't want to leave her work family.
Hopefully her flowers last a couple days so they can move with her on Tuesday.  Her move out pile is behind her.  How can she be moving out already?!

Just Us Again

Eric went to the mainland to
meet friends with their new trailer to help with their first towing experience.  And he took a selfie!
Shannon took these four to play at Wildplay. Jia is keen to go again!
These 3 were great together.
Adult patio time!
So fun to have a toddler around again. Silas.  He is super busy and so cute.
Missing Kai, he was bawling so I sent him back in the house.  No one knows why he was crying this time.  It's at the point that none of us care so much. Honestly he cries so often these days that we're all done with this phase. Please tell me it's a phase.
Mary met a puppy. Pure joy of holding the baby for a bit ;)
This never gets old.
The Mom's got out for a windy drive and dinner.  In a pub.  Rare.  Fun.
Our view.
And at the end of the party we all checked our blood pressure?!  Old fart parties?

I didn't take many pictures.  Way too busy around here. Blessed to have friends join us in the chaos.

House Guests

On Monday Eric and I had to take Lili's car to Nanaimo.  Still working out the kinks.  We took the boys. Enjoyed a nice drive and made it to Little Qualicum Falls.  Checked out our camp site for the long weekend.
Combs for ice cream. I was trying to have a high calorie day.  Sadly this look on Kai's face is his weird version of a smile for the camera.  He does smile.  Often.  Just really not ever on command.
Rootbeer icecream.  One happy boy.
And once it's a high calorie day you get to just go for it.  Eric got me a Rootbeer slurpee.  First one in a year!  One happy girl.
We did a bit of shopping for the boys.  New shoes and jackets for school.  They didn't mind the weirdness of being in the mall in masks.  I still don't love it.  I need another size down on jeans but I wasn't keen on being in my beloved Old Navy.  So I came home and ordered them on-line. Way better sale price on-line.
The other night Lili's car was beat on in the bay.  None of us are impressed.  Grateful it didn't happen to her new car.  But...was it targeted?  Are the girls in danger?  Is it worth the risk them parking in the bay?  To their slight dismay Eric and I have said safety first and they are getting rides again.  I picture a surely, unkempt old man with anger and drinking issues living on one of the derelict boats that is pissed that he can't get a parking spot. Sad world.
Eric got new tires on sale for the Navigator. It's like Christmas for him ;)
Shannon and kids have arrived for a few days.  It was shocking how fast all the kids fell into their summer routine.  Love it.
Zoey didn't want to sleep cramped in Jia's bed so Jia joined her on the floor.  Hillarious.  We need to find them some mats for tonight. Isabel was happy ti have them down with her.
My favorite Disney character is Mike Wazowski.  I couldn't resist the Mike and Sully shirts.  They're set for Halloween.
International Dog Day.
Silas enjoying the playground.  Good to see someone use it again.
Lili and Fei are out tonight at a work party.  Her last shift is this weekend.  She moves out in six days.
The boys enjoying tons of screen time together.  In years past there would have been a super serious mess in there but they're doing great this year.

Recent Happenings

When puppies fall asleep mid play.
First deer ever (that we know of) in our yard.
Eric followed him.  Worried he'd panic about being fenced so picked an apple and showed him it near the gate then left him some space. He texted me pics and I asked if we could keep it. Haha.  Big no.
Lili and Fei had Wed night off work and had no plans. Eric and I skedaddled quick before they changed their minds. We got a good drive in the convertible before the rain. Ended up at Nicole and Steve's. So nice to do something normal. Great visit. Could have stayed for days.  Met Mei Ling's tortois Franklin.
Girls both got their braces off Thursday! They were given gift bags of popcorn, gum, caramel, sticky candy, and tooth care things. They sent me pictures at work but I'm not allowed to post those.
Eric finished Bill's shed package. Ready for delivery. I can't imagine how they got it loaded in the trailer. Glad I wasn't home to see.
Luk and I did a thing. I moved out of my armour so it can go in his room when he moves. No clue when that will be. The boys share a cabinet and it's cramped. So Luk and I sorted and culled and moved his clothing out.  He thinks it's funny that he lives in the hallway now but he is pleased to not be sharing with Kai.
Then Luk and I sorted and culled and put away Kai's clothing. I didn't get a picture. So Luk took Kai upstairs to show him and took this picture. Kai really had no clue why Luk was showing him his clothes. We don't think he knows it's all him in there now.

Maybe, just maybe he won't squeeze into Luk's clothes if they're not there for him to grab?
Mr scrubbed the new toy. Yay. Then he moved onto washing the van and Jeep and his Navigator.  He never stops.
I live with three girls. Who all borrow/STEAL my flip flops. I have three pairs. I have many, many, many times asked politely/screamed my head off with threats, them to stop stealing/abusing me. Today I have 3, two rights and a left, but no pair. This is my life.
Dinner out with my girl. Celebrating milestones. The pie didn't look as good as the picture but it was lovely. Jia didn't care for it so I got it all.
Finally a picture with those braces off! Retainers on. They're off to work.
Lili has a significant lisp with the retainer in. She said she wuvs me. Too cute. Fei sounds ok.
Gramma and big girls went shopping in Victoria today.  I dogsat Meili.  When I got home Eric met me at the door asking if I'd be home for a while.  He quickly left and went to Bill's to set up the instant shed.  Ultimately he really needed his utility trailer back ;)
