No Catalina :(

Swells were too big for the tender boats this morning.  I woke up to find Eric lounged and staring out the window.  He was muttering that there was no way.  Also that there was no way the girls would be para sailing.  Honestly, to me, all waves and whitecaps look the same.  I had been telling Eric the night before that the boat was really swaying but he doesn't feel it like I do.  I carried on as if we were getting off the boat.  While we were in the dining room there was an announcement that Catalina was  cancelled.  Boo.  Safety first.  We've been before so it was easy to switch gear.  Plus...fun days at sea are fun days.  Kids did lots of kids club.  Morning then back with us for lunch.  Back for the whole afternoon.  Boys back for kids club dinner and onto their party.  Jia did dinner with us and then onto her club for the evening.  Big girls enjoyed their club last night but tonight decided to eat in the dining room with us then go to a couple comedy shows.  Which were both hillarious.  One of the reasons we enjoy Carnival.  Finally picked up kids from their parties and now were settling into bed. Making plans for Ensenada.  Weather is supposed to be nice. Proper port, no tenders. We're planning to sleep in, do brunch at 11 and walk into town.  Jia won't do kids club dinner.  They have the kids eat with spoons.  Forks being too dangerous.  Haha.  After we dropped the boys we had to turn back and let Kai know to use one hand to eat.  He was skipping the spoon and double fisting it in.  Seriously.  If he thinks we can't see he reverts.  Oy.  During our free time today we went to the track and did 11 laps (one mile).  During our second break we had a nap.  Not a picture taking day.  We end up doing a ton of walking dropping and picking up the kids.  On different floors, opposite ends of the ship.  Thankfully the teens are on their own and don't need us.

Goodbye Catalina.

Decemated lunch.
More time at sea = more time to eat.

Carnival Imagination

We're on the ship.  All is good.  Smooth travel, easy parking, shuttle and boarding.  Streamlined process.  We had a lovely lunch and sat in the sun for a while until our room was ready.  Kids are all registered in their clubs.  Tonight we all went to the dining room together.  Early night for me and the littles.  Lots of yawning.  Tomorrow is Catalina Island.  Lili and Fei are going para-sailing!  This ship is smaller and seems super crowded.

Jia is 10!

We celebrated with a day of her choice.  Sleep in.
Pj day. McDonalds for lunch (uber eats).  Medieval Times for dinner.  I was more than happy to grant her wish.  A down day of naps and wifi was much needed.  Dinner was good and eating with your hands was a hit.  However...after loving on our baby dragons all day yesterday it was a tad upsetting when they placed half a chicken our plates and said it was baby dragon!!  Jia was mortified.  The stadium was super loud.  All of the kids did some serious cheering.  Our Knight won.  Yay yellow Knight.  So that was fun.
10!! Double digits.

Kai couldn't make it in the picture.
He was having a major fit because he was given a crown.  ??  Normally he fights for equality.  The rest of us were being all casual while hundreds of peeps filled by into the castle. He and I spent 20 minutes outside of the castle.  He was preparing to settle in to the fit until I mentioned that there was no food without the hat.   A few minutes later he pulled it together and we found the family.  In the end he loved the show and was cheering like crazy.

Jia loves to be loud...this event was perfect for her.

Knott's Berry Farm

We all like this park.  There was a huge market all through ghost town with artisans showing off their work.  We did a few rides.  The littles bought toy dragons.  They met the lady making them.  Jia's developed a wee hole and she was able to take him back for facial surgery.  We tried assorted boysenberry candies, yum.  We had disability passes for both boys so were able to stay together.  The boys enjoyed a Peanuts show while the girls did a roller coaster.  We were able to walk from/to our hotel.  The day was lovely but turned chilly super fast.  I used my extreme chill as an excuse to buy a coveted Knott's jacket for myself.  I've been layering clothing and sometimes have six layers on here. Tomorrow is Jia's Birthday.  We're sleeping in.  She has requested McDonalds for lunch. Uber eats it is! Some reorganizing/packing for the cruise. Then we're going to Medieval Nights for dinner.

Baby dragons.

The stagecoach.

Granddragons Timothy, Flash and Dash.

The train. No robbery though, just Christmas fun.

Pics from Fei

California Adventure Park

Our last Disney day.  We did most of the park and were out by 5.  A long walk to Coco's Bakery for dinner and an uber home.  Boys are in bed by 8!  Girls are on their phones.  Eric has left to do laundry.  I'm going to load a few photos, play my game and get some much needed rest.  Tomorrow is Knott's Berry Farm.  Always a nice easy pace there.

We cut through the Grand Californian Hotel.
Little rocking chairs with old Disney cartoons.
Sooo cute.

Jessica made contact with Millie!
