Puppy Updates

Still no name.  Still no birthdate.  The girls have shot down about 30 names I like.  Today I'm calling her Pupper-doodles and Millie.  Woke up thinking Sally and that was rejected immediately.

She peed outside this morning!  Whoop whoop. Major celebration.  She did two big poops yesterday, one in the playpen and one in the house.  So she works but we have a long way to go potty training.  She still not interested in eating  but nibbles a bit through the night.  I'm feeding her water four times a day with a dropper.  She takes it willingly but doesn't seem interested in drinking from a bowl.  We had assumed she was done nursing but perhaps not?  In some moments she seems pretty young, in others not so much.

She is quite comfortable in the kitchen.  She approaches all of us.  Loves to be help and cuddled by anyone.  Best part ever....she likes to follow.  Me, Eric, kids, Isabel and even three of the cats.  She followed me from the car up the stairs to the office this morning.  Then she needed a nap :)  Right now she's tucked in my shirt having a good long second nap.

The girls wanted to show her to Kathy at piano last night.  Then they drove her over to see Gramma.

Cakes for Fun Fair tonight.

A new battle arena.
Way too much fun at work.

The Fun Part

Getting to know our new baby.  She's met everyone except Lewis.  Isabel loves her.  No drama from anyone.  Lots of interest last night from Oliver, Esmei and Isabel when she was in the crate.  We put her in Isabel's old giant camping crate in our room.  Today at work she is set up in the pack and play crib.  We'll use the super yard xt in the kitchen.

She woke up at 4:30 and crunched on some kibble.  I took her outside at 5.  She still hasn't peed!  Poor thing doesn't know where to go.  She is news paper trained.  She doesn't know about pee pads and grass.  Grass that is too tall on her :)  Eric is going to find newspaper today so we can put some on the lawn.

This morning Jia took her to school.  So much fun.  The kids were all so great with her.  Jia got to do a show and tell with her new puppy.  I just grinned.  So much more fun than the drudgery of work, school, chores and appointments.

I met the dogs on Sunday.  Fei and I spent two hours meeting a whole bunch of different dogs.  Different breeds, ages, and genders.  A few rescues.  Tough choice.  Loved them all.  I had two picked out and couldn't decide.  I took Eric and Jia after work yesterday to pick between the two.  They didn't agree.  Eric said take both.  Oy.  I made the choice and they didn't necessarily agree with me but everyone was happy once we got in the car.  Joanie the breeder was in a car accident and was feeling awful so we get her papers later.  Still not sure how old she is.  She is a sibling to Dawn-Marie's little Thelonious.  Same Dad.  Possibly a littermate but not confirmed yet so that is fun.

The name game is going strong.  I have a name picked out for the puppy left behind of course. Sasha.  She hugs like a human baby.  She was Eric's pick.  She's full grown and Shitzu/Chihuahua.  I've said one is enough.  Eric is still talking about two this morning.

Wish I knew what they were thinking.

Only Eric would think to let them sniff butts.  Hahaha.

My big ole' toughie telling me no more dogs.  Love.

Long chats about peeing on the lawn.

To be so popular ;)

She was tired from our big morning and slept on Sue while I set up her crib.

New Puppy!

It's a girl.  So fun.  She is so sweet and calm.  Lots of cuddles tonight.  Can't wait to see her personality come out.  Let the name game begin.

No time to blog.

Too much going on.  If there is time to blog...I'd rather sleep ;)

We've upgraded our power.  It was considerably more involved than I could have ever imagined.  The electritions  have been in and out for two weeks. We had no power Friday for the big hydro switch.  For fun...there was concern in the afternoon that we'd be out until Monday.  Luckily they came back at the last minute.  Just realized Saturday morning we have no phone.  Line was cut.  Eric wasted time yesterday trying to splice it together.  No go.  More knob and tube was found.  Oy.  We've had crews in twice before to remove it all.  The list of projects grows.

We met with the municipality about changing bylaws for our property to build Mom's house.  Very complicated.  They're suggesting it will be a year to get approval.  Crazy.  We have to make up a proposal proving due diligence.  While we were there we saw the original proposal to have our house moved.  I took a couple pictures of the pictures.

Lili has been driving her and Fei all around.  Life altering for sure.  We are loving not going to the Rock Cod over and over again.  Makes Eric's life so much easier dropping the school drops and pick ups.  Lili did a parallel park for work last night.  So proud she took a picture.
Jia is becoming more and more social.  Wanting to be with her friends and Max all the time.  It's weird when they start branching off.  Max was here on Friday....but there was no plan.  Haha.  His Dad dropped his bike and his Mom picked him up so Max had a plan.  Jia assumed I made the plan.  Hillarious.  Max fits right in.  He keeps Jia busy so we like having him here.

When the kids are riding bikes, Kai gets tired first then hangs around the front steps yelling "pit stop".  It's super annoying.  I was telling someone about it, Max was surprised he was yelling about a pit stop.  Which struck me as funny.  Max is so accepting of Kai that he never questioned what Kai was doing or saying.

Saturday I took Jia to Emily's birthday in Victoria.  Wicked rain storm and heavy fog on the drive.  We need the rain.  Drive home was clear thankfully.

Kids and I have had fun ordering from Aliexpress.  Prices are great but things take between 2 and 6 weeks.  Luk wanted Bayblades, we ordered three sets.  Luk has been asking daily for weeks.  They finally came!  Dumb toy but Luk likes it.  Kai and Jia are done already.

How hillarious is Isabel watching?!

School always gets busy this time of year.  We had the boys iep meetings last week.  Goals all set for next year.  Fun fair is coming up.  We're all looking forward to summer break!

Kai is doing ok with his new speech therapy.  We're pleased he's not fighting us.

Kai is seeing a genetesist this week.  Years of waiting.  Luk has been waiting for an educational assessment for a couple years.  He's finally up at Queen Alexandra.  More appointments.  Sooooo many appointments.

The electrition just showed up to get our phone line fixed.  Yay.  Eric is working on the pool today.  The ground is shifting and we have a liner issue.  He's trying to figure it out but it's looking like we have to empty it, fix and refill it.  Yikes.  The kids and I are going to see Alladin this afternoon.

Lili got her N!!

Wahoo!  Big exciting day at our house.  Lili passed her driver's test today.  She was so nervous.  I was even more nervous.  Too much lead up.  A whole year with her L.  This will be so life altering for all of us.
Shout out to Adrian at Summit.

Mother's Day

Eric and the boys picked Jia and I up at the ferry.  We went for a walk at Butchart.  Tulips, my fave, are all up.  So it was pretty spectacular there. Then we went to see Debbie and family.  Ended up out to dinner with them.  So that was a fun change to the day.  Jia and Emily were happy to see each other.  Lili and Fei worked all day.  We picked them up on the way home.

A bracelet from Kai.

Another bracelet from Luk.  He had all the words.
Lavendar essential oils on lava beads with turquoise.
That he made himself.  Kai helped his ea.  ;)  It was an impressive mouthful.

Jia learned some leather work on the dream catcher she made me.  With my favorite color (orange) feather.  Which Oliver loves, a lot.  So it's in a drawer waiting for a frame to mount it in.

One of those perfect days, where everyone was content.

Winning over Dilenger.

Saw them for a few minutes at work.
