Kai finally lost his first tooth!

Kai lost his first tooth tonight and he's swallowed it!! He was just at the dentist. She didn't tell us it was wiggly. Kai didn't tell us.

Now....how the heck does the fairy come?!

Eric told him the fairy would use magic to get it out of his tummy. Our kids usually put their teeth in a glass of water and leave it in the kitchen. Light sleepers. Then in the morning the tooth is gone and they know what color magic dust their fairy had by the color of the water. The money is usually sitting near the glass. $5.00 a tooth here.

Weekends Fly By.

With the girls working our weekends just fly by. Meals are all messed up. They eat at odd times. They're home late and there is so much driving. I'm starting to see that having the 7 of us together is the impossible dream.
Fei got her first paycheque last night ;) Big milestone.

Yesterday the girls had a staff meeting. Lilli started at 11 and Fei started at 4. They were home at 9:30. They're cat sitting so Fei did that during the day and took Luk for the walk. He was thrilled to go and he got to use his umbrella so it was all good except the house is a block away. Fei didn't want the wheel chair so the poor kid was exhausted after the walk. Way too far for him.

I had to take Walter to Nanaimo to see a specialist who was here from the states. Three vets have seen him now and they all agree he needs his teeth out. Crazy. So he's booked with this specialist vet dentist. She's not back until end of June so he's staying on steroids until then with fingers crossed he doesn't develope diabetes. Prices are staggering. Poor wee guy. This vet wondered if we might prefer to put him down. Uh, no. He's not even three.

I took Jia swimming last night. It was her wish thing of the moment. She's leaving me alone today. She's out of things to bug me for. Such an exhausting kid. We had fun at the pool but honestly the gross factor is WAY up there.

The picture of the littles and the bear is from Canadian Tire. We got Fei s new bike. She declined posing for a picture. It was crazy shirt day at school. They were still sporting their shirts but Kai took his layered Hawaiian shirt off.

Today the girls both work different shifts. The littles are playing hard. I baked cookies for the Mothers Day Tea next weekend. I booked our last camping trip of the summer. Phew. Plans in place for the whole summer. I don't love the provincial booking system. It's really hard to know four months in advance! Already Kai has had two appointments booked during camping trips. I'll try and change them but it's never easy.

Mom and I are driving Lili to work this afternoon and picking up Fei. Then a trip to Walmart for school lunch supplies. No breaks.

A drawing with a story! Signs, arrows and a people. Major progress.

Velcro bowling shoes.

Lili's bowling in school today.  Not sure which class.  She just texted me...I'm laughing.

>
Bowling shoe size?  A three😂😭. My friend group was laughing.  It's still kinda hilarious that I have velcro and they have laces.  <

Snacks

Snack time with the puppies. Picture didn't show up on the sun post.

Stupid blogger.

Again, blogger isn't working. Won't take photos so I'm stuck with bloggeroid. Not so user friendly. So the sun post is hoopy. Two extra pics up first, words under the pictures have a space and it's not easy to go back and do corrections. Off to go play my Disney Kingdoms game.

Sun

It was my flex today.  Eric and I took most of the day off.  Once the kids were in school he changed the oil in the van, I napped.  Then we went to the farm market.  The peace ended when we picked up kids, home with bounty from the market and quick dinner prep because Lili works tonight.

First drive of the year with the top down on the convertible.  It was so nice that after dropping Lili at work, I had Eric escape for a drive with me.  Fei babysat.

Now we're just finishing up homework and I sent the kids out to play.  First evening play of the season.  No jackets!

Jia is saying goodbye to her bike and moving onto Fei's purple mountain  bike.  She is sad and elated at the same time.  Kai is taking her little purple bike because he really loves purple but he's not ready for the bigger bike. He can't figure out pedaling or looking where he's going. Luk is still trying to get around the driveway on his little bike.  He is just soooo weak.  So Jia walked with Luk and Eric stuck with Kai and the boys rode for a bit. They are NOT campground ready. I'm guessing not this summer. Eric and Jia were amazingly patient. I sat cringing but quiet during the bike riding. If it was up to me those bikes would go back into hiding. They just aren't ready.

Added a picture from Sunday. Mom feeding snacks to the doggies. Too funny.

Pretty grateful today for family and sun and our really great yard.

Homework in the sun.

The old bike.

Kai wasn't thrilled about being sent out to play. He was determined to sit on the steps but then his bike came out and he was interested in that for a few minutes.

The upgrade.

And then he fell over.

Jia thought Fei should say goodbye to her bike. Then Jia was horrified that Fei rode with bare feet and no helmet! Now, we have to get serious about a bigger bike for Fei.

Sunday Catch Up

Max came to play Sunday. They cuddled in the big chair and played Minecraft in a special world she created for the two of them.

Fei finished up her training at work. She has her first shift without Lili on Sat. They're both enjoying the job so that's cool.

Kai was off to see the eye specialist today. No new prescription for the first time. He does have to redo some tests to look how much degeneration he's had over the last year with his night blindness (retinitis pigmentosa). SOOO many appointments.

The city is flushing our water system. Chlorine in the water. Yuk. So we were off to Uncle Dwayne's to fill up on nice well water. I tried to get the kids to pretend the water jugs were full and heavy. Didn't work. They had a great play running around being chased by Uncle.

Spring Fling

To say Jia was excited would be a giant understatement. I talked Eric into coming with me. I find it an awkward school event. Too loud. Too dark. Never enough seating. Too hard to talk. Luk didn't agree to go until just before we left. He picked out his shirt and Eric dug out a bolo tie for him. He was pretty thrilled. Kai was told it would be loud and dark and he was a solid no about going. Fei was home so luckily we didn't have to drag him there. Lili was working. Kid works too many shifts. She likes it and the paycheques.

Jia took off with Max right away. They played hard for two hours. We met his Mom and we set a play date for Sunday afternoon. Jia is already planning their time together.

Luk's first dance. He loved it. Had Eric and I all to himself. He ate pizza and chips. Facepaint. Photo booth. The occasional visit with a friend. And loud music. Then he asked me to dance. Awwww. We had a great time. We danced for the last half hour. Sweetest boy alive.

We brought Kai some glow sticks. He wasn't at all concerned that we'd been out without him.

Jersey Day

Jia wanted to join in. I let her wear Kai's. Mostly because he doesn't know it's his. He didn't care about jerseys and both he and Luk were keen to wear green. So they picked their ninja turtle shirt.

Oh Esmei.

Esmei enjoying an episode of Ranger Rob.

Fei's 1st day at the Rock Cod.

So exciting.  Was expecting nerves but she's just ready to get going!

Lili has been promoted to head busser and is going to do the training.  Starting with Fei then two more kids after that.

Germany

Miss Jia and Max (kid in her class) have declared their love for each other.  They're planning to marry as soon as they're allowed and moving to Germany.  Gulp.  In the scheme of things the biggest concern is how far she's planning to go away from me.  I told her it was a really, really super long way away.  So, they hold hands.  Yikes.  No kissing  cause that's gross but she likes it when he plays with her hair.  Supervision required.  Is she always going to be our handful?!

Kai's surgery.

And...back to waiting...

Anesthesiologist (where is spell checker on this one?!) has decided that Kai is too complex for him.  Now our local specialist is agreeing.  So we wait to hear from a new specialist from Victoria.

Holey moley this is getting old.  Pretty sick of hearing the word complex.  It's all in his files!  Then they meet him.  Sheesh.  Still just a kid with giant tonsils and adenoids.  Would love to see the apnea under control.

So frustrating.

The Train

We went to an autism event.  Finally an outing where we didn't have to control or shush Kai the whole time.  Very refreshing.  He was so excited about being at the train again that his teeth were chattering. He was chanting "da tain, da train, da tain" while jumping.
