Jia's 4th Birthday

The first words she spoke yesterday were 'is Jia 4 now?'

She is growing up way too fast.  Sob.

She got her new bike from Eric first thing.  She was pretty overwhelmed and then reacted badly.  It took a while for her to reach happy.   She then put on her hello kitty dress shoes and rode all over the house ;)

Then Gramma and Gramma came over and she opened the rest of her gifts.  High lite was a camera from Gramma & Grampa.

Then the rest of the day was party prep.  Phew.  Fun was had.  Jia had a blast playing with Emily.  They were both sad for the night to end.  They'll be together again on New Years.

Christmas Eve

Just sharing the super cute photos.

Not sure how we'll get Jia to sleep tonight.

Luk loved opening a couple presents tonight.  Looking forward to the spoiling tomorrow!

The Xmas card photo shoot.

Oh my.  Dec. 5.  Here are just a few.   We really need a whole family photo shoot.  Fun times.

School concerts and parties.

This blogger app is so convenient and so full of glitches.  Wrote a long post and it's been lost in publishing land since Saturday.  Here is a quick shortened version.

Kid's are done concerts, parties and school.   I have a couple weeks off.  We have virtually no plans except Christmas,  Jia's 4th bday and  New Years.

On Sunday we needed to get out of the house so drove to Costco.  Jia slept the whole time ;)  Made for a nice relaxing time even with it being so busy.  Got everything on our list and enjoyed a snack before we left.  Luk loves dried seaweed as much as Jia and Fei.

Eric took the middle seat out of his row of three.  The Durango is now set up like my van.  Clever man.

Toy room is clean and ready for new ones.   Christmas presents are all wrapped and ready to go under the tree.   Santa cookies are made.  Decorated our gingerbread train this morning.  Luk helped and loved doing it.  Jia put together her goodie bags last night and Fei is wrapping Jia's bday gifts right now.  Feeling mostly ready and mostly organized.

Luk continues to amaze us.  He is doing so great.   Talking ALL of the time now.  We pick out tons of words.  He's such a happy joyful boy.

I can not believe how fabulously the four kids are getting along.  Just works better.  We are swamped in laundry and dishs.  Feels like a party here most of the time.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Too much cuteness.

Walking past the dining room and see three of them in a row all bum scooting together.  We are so blessed with such happy kids who happen to be too cute.  We also suddenly have to be more mindful of doors and gates now that little man has figured out he can move from room to room.

Waiting

OK,  it wasn't me waiting, it was my little sisters.  How cute are they?!

Took us all day but we did finally get the decorating done.

Luk's muscles.

Hilarious.  Muscles and high kicks.  Good times around here.

Curls

Jia has been talking about curly whirly hair a lot lately.   When ever I use a curling iron she demands we get rid of the curls the second she sees them.  So she had to work hard convincing me she was ready to try curlers.  I put them in before bed and she kept them in all night.  Then this morning she wanted the curls GONE NOW.  Sigh.  She looks gorgeous.  We told her she would need a bath to get rid of them so she is attempting to ignore them.  So cute.   Sooooo cute.

We met with our social worker this morning for Luk's first post placement visit.  Next one in two months.

Now we're knee deep in Christmas decorations.   Luk got his turn sitting in the little sleigh.  I've finally gone through my shopping.  Need to round out a few things.  Running out of time!!

We met neice Avery and her boyfriend last night at the Christmas train.  The rain stopped.  The train cars are all covered this year.  Jia enjoyed the crafts.  Luk liked the train.  The girls all did a power smart challenge and won super cool bike lights.  Eric took Luk for a turn and nodded his head for him and he got one too.  We even visited Santa.  Luk wasn't freaked out.  More curious.  Only $7 for the photo.   Nice.  Jia refused to go near him so it was just three Nelson kids in the photo.  Sigh.  Gramma came with us this year too.  First year we weren't there in a fcc group.

Lili and Fei danced and played piano at Cairnsmore yesterday.  The littles stayed home with Eric.  After we left, the big girls and I took some time to shop at Superstore for some slippers for Luk.  He is always cold and needed them to grip the floor too.  We bought new jammies for everyone while we were there.  Lili found dog sledding jammies and asked for them.  The first time she has ever asked for an article of clothing.  From the boy dept. but still exciting.

Then we stopped at Menchies,  my favorite ;)  Nice to just sit and chat.  Miss spending time with just them.

Weekend has been fairly relaxing overall.   Back to the chaos tomorrow.   Concert week at school, always disruptive to life.  Four shows.
