New Park

We tried a new park today after our last kinder music class.   Kids enjoyed it.  Giant sand pit that we weren't expecting and tons of bark mulch.  Ick, so not my fave.  Luk of course sat right down in the sand and within minutes had it every where.  He really needed his bath tonight :)  There was a sand digger too.  Jia was intent on figuring it out.

Spent  the rest of the day at home.  Eric was working on fixing his canoe.  Redoing the seats.  We're all looking forward to going padding together.

School Fun Fair

Kids had a great time, especially Jia.  Luk was overwhelmed, once there was candy involved, that was all that mattered.  He was pretty happy to hang quietly with Gramma and I at ticket sales for the bulk of the night ;)  The girls all took off with friends.  Jia was taking advantage of the blow up slide, bouncy house and giant slide.

I'm just happy to be home.

Donuts make everything better.

Luk had some titer tests done and he needed a few boosters.  Five needles.  Eric and I took him to the clinic today.  They had two nurses and the needles were laid out.  Once we went in they did them all in tandem and it only took a few seconds.  He was less than impressed to say the least.  What a brave kid.  I'm not sure who was more scared.  Luk or Eric ;)

Not too sure what's going on yet.
Hey, maybe this place isn't too bad.
Ok, this is weird and Dad looks scared.
Oh my goodness, what on earth is going on?!
Chocolate donuts really do make everything better!

Lewis came home!!

And the cat came back the very next day.  Thanks Shannon for the song that is totally stuck in my head!

The dogs set up the alarm at 3 in the morning Monday night.  I was annoyed at being up but once I saw Lewis I forgave them.  I tried to pet him but he scooted away so I woke Fei up.  She came down right away all grins and elated that her cat was alive and home.  He was gone well over two months.  We think we might have spotted him in the field a couple times but he isn't the only Siamese around.  We had the binoculars where we could grab them in case there was another sighting.  Luk has been enjoying the 'banocks' to look for birds.

Lewis looks good.  Healthy.  A bit thinner.  He ate for 45 mins.  Then he cuddled with Fei and I and even took a few minutes to play on Eugene's kitten toy.  He settled into bed with Fei and he was still there in the morning.  Surprisingly he was still hanging around when I got home from work and was laying on the big rock outside this morning.   We're all hoping he sticks around for awhile.

Weekend at home.

Low key days.  Lots of lounging.  Except for Eric who was doing yard work most of the weekend.  Luk had the sniffles and was happy to just hang around looking for hugs.  Lili and Fei cleaned their rooms and did some bike riding around the neighborhood.  Jia played hard as usual.  I've been caught up in another series on Netflix, La Galere, it's in french so my family thinks I'm nuts but I don't mind subtitles and after a while it gets easier and easier to understand the french.  Jia had some fake nails that I finally let her try.  Making  dreams come true.

Hooves

Jia is getting so creative.  Some of it is just too funny.  She started out making horse shoes but then she wanted to wear them so next she made hooves and then attached horse shoes.  Then she made a wreath and ran races with an imaginary horse and I had to tell her which one of them won and award them the wreath.  Which of course only worked if Jia won ;)  Amazing she wasn't slipping.  Now off to pedicure her and pretty up those toes.

Isabel the lap dog.

Soooo cute.

Full bloom

We had a house painter come and give us a quote to paint the house.  $10,000 plus $1000 for better paint plus $2000 to paint the shed.  Yikes.

I thought we might change the colors.  Yellow with white trim and black dental work.  Then this morning, looking at the full pink bloom in full sun with Eugene seeing us off, I remembered why we picked the light green.  It looks so nice with full bloom.

Where oh where will Eric find time to paint!?!

May Long Weekend

We camped with friends.  15 kids.  Fun group.  Five bigs 12 - 13, five middles 10- 11 and five littles, 3,4,5,6 & 7.

As usual, didn't see a ton of Lili and Fei.  Hanna camped with us.  Lili declared that she was going to help and she actually followed through the whole weekend.  Made cooking, cleaning and dishes so much easier!  She even helped me pack up this morning.  I had time to read a whole novel.

Jia got to experience a bit of freedom, she was great about telling us where she was.  She was doing better riding her bike too.  Bless Kalum who was so gentle with both Jia and Luk.  He was patient with her low bike skills and held Luk's hand often to help him.  So sweet.

We got home at noon and all we've done today is deal with the trailer and bathe.  Big girls and I went to see Pitch Perfect 2.  Lili was happy to get home and see the Billboards.

It was our first time towing with the Envoy.  Disappointing to say the least.  No clue what we'll do now.  Eric and I prefer the motorhome but the kids are all very very clear that they prefer the trailer.  Sigh.
