Easter, Combs

Happy Easter.

We packed a lunch and went out for a bit to Combs.  The boys and I found bunny cheese with mandarin and chocolate in it.  Sounded interesting.  It was just like a crumbly cheese cake.  Yum.  Luk bought himself a wooden Jeep model to make.  Indoctrinating him early so he'll never do drugs if he's always saving up for Jeep parts ;)
Kai quit climbing at this point and asked for his picture to be taken.

We parked and Eric and this guy found each other immediately.  They were discussing all things Jeep.  Now he's coming to Duncan from Gold River to pick up Oscar's old springs that will be perfect on his Tj.  Haha.  Tonkas for big boys.  This fellow was horrified that I wasn't planning to rock crawl.  I said mall crawler and he said I heard rock crawler.
It was so nice to have sun today!
A Peep squishy toy.  Still fun.

Girls night out.  Fei wanted a drive in Onyx so I took the girls to see the Inukshuks in Parksville.  We found puppies!

Japanese Chins. Like Finn.

For sale. $500.  Eric is soooo lucky we didn't bring her home.

Parksville

Finally a quiet moment.

Weekend goals met.  A nurse duck for Fei Fei.

We ventured into town and did the big sos thrift store.  3 Boyds.  The 1st one is an Easter one :)

We've never seen another Falcon trailer so we stopped to have a look for fun.

A little moment of mindfulness.

Disney families can find hidden Micky's anywhere.

Inukshuks!  Hundreds of them

Very cool.

I made them make one.

They didn't mind too much.

It was worth the stop.

The pups are doing ok overall.  I thought fleece removal last night was funny on Finny with his little naked belly hanging out.

Rathtrevor

It's these turkey's 1st trip in the trailer. Our 1st night wasn't so great.  They can't jump to the pee spot I had planned or their bed spot under the dinette.  So after a pee strike from all three we put a pad where they can reach. Not ideal for Kai.  It still took forever but on night two they are finally using it.  They didn't eat or drink for night one.  Then they woke me up crying every hour on the hour.  Such babies.  Today they napped hard on the couch under their blankies and they ate a late dinner plus slept from 12 to 5:30.

Bed time snacks.

It's Easter weekend!

This never gets old.
Cutest trio of all time.  They love their walks.

It's gorgeous here but soooo cold.
It was so sunny and warm at home.

I'm loving my new heated shawl. It helps.  I thought I'd get some duck stitching time but my hands are way too cold.

I named her!
Everyone, meet Onyx.

Shannon, Lili and I drove Oscar home and swapped for Onyx.  Lili needed a couple of forgotten items and Eric needed a file.  Luk broke an orthotic so Eric had to do another repair.  Bonus for me to have the new toy to play with.

Lili is here car camping.  I need a picture of her set up.  Ist night she slept in the back seat, 2nd night she had seats folded down and used an air mattress.  Way easier than setting up her tent.

New Car Day!

Eric took Kai to speech this morning.  I got some work done then was getting ready for the day.  I was fussing to Luk about what to wear.  Saying "It's new car day! What do I wear?!".  He has a fabulous sense of humor so his eye roll was funny.  I opted for red and black stripes.  Although it's possible it was actually navy blue stripes.

She was all ready to go.  The paperwork was smooth.  We were out of there in no time.

Eric found the 1st Easter Egg.  It's on the front windshield. So cute. We also noticed the recirculating air button has a tiny Wrangler on it instead of the sedan in all other cars.  There is a 1941 braille on the stick shift.  It'll be fun to discover more.

I drove us straight to the Beacon for cones.  They were good.  I don't know how they win awards though.  Honestly McDonald's is less than half the price and tastes better.  Imho.

It was fun driving the fancy Jeep.  So much smoother than Oscar.

Next we went to Clover Point in  James Bay.  It looks stormy out there but it was actually pretty mild.  This wee duck was from Cam, our salesman.  I ducked him a light up duck.

Then the sun came out so we tried for pictures.  The sun was in my eyes and pictures just don't show off the shine.

These loungers looked comfortable but they really aren't.  Kai is genuinely smiling here!  Not the fake one or the usual grimace that is actually him starting to cry.

The boys like the Jeep.  Likely because they both have charging ports in the back seat.

Home.
They'll look more similar once Eric puts the hard top back on Oscar.

Jia decided to come with me to visit Mom and she plugged her phone in the auxiliary usb port and all hell broke lose with the stereo head unit/screen.  We sat in there for a long time trying to figure it out.  The screens were flipping wildly, we couldn't talk to the unit anymore, the radio was searching and switching every four seconds.  Eric unplugged the battery but that didn't help. Jia opted not to come if there was no music.  I finally turned the screen off and just left.  Lili called an hour later, her and Eric were concerned I was out upset and crying about my car.  Uh, nope, was just out for a drive with my Mom.  What's a used vehicle without some glitches to take care of? I already texted Cam.  He thinks it might need a software update.  Eric has been researching online and has written down a few ideas to try fixing it.  We're camping tomorrow so for me this likely moves to the back burner until next week.

Still no names yet.  I'm getting more and more ok with the black.  Adding Anise to the name list.  Or Panda.
