Long Dive

Lili took Fei and I on an impressive drive today. To Nanaimo for lunch and a bit of shopping. Then onto Englishman River
Falls for dinner with Eric and the kids. She drove back too. She's new to driving on the highway and she did great.

Last Day of School.

Yay! So thrilled to be done with school for a bit. Celebration dinner at Mr. Mike's.

Feeling Better

Walter is feeling better. He's playing! He's happily eating moist food, he's a doll about taking his meds and he's back to cuddling.

The kitten.

Well...no neighbor's are looking for him. The whole family is smitten with the kitten. I made a vet appointment for him. His eyes are still blue. I'm worried about his tail. Feels broken in three spots. I think he has mites and fleas. Black gunk around his nostrils. Poor little guy. He's likely too young to vaccinate.

Luk and Jia are asking continuously if we can keep him. Tough answers. He's not ours. Keep saying he might belong to someone. Reality is we think he's feral and we likely get to keep him.

He hides given the chance. He's still gorging. He has no clue how to cuddle but likes being pet. He purrs. When ever I enter the bathroom he darts. He's figured out the litter box. He tries to leap out of our arms. Sometimes he cries when we leave his room.

The vets office agrees he's likely feral. My concern is that Mama and siblings are nearby and hungry. We're all driving really slow in the driveway and listening hard for cries. We can't keep a litter!

Five cats is too many...totally into crazy cat lady status now!

The name game is on. Jia wants Jinger, Luk wants Whiskers, Eric likes Flynn, Fei likes Calvin, Lili also likes Flynn and has added Koda. I'm liking Gus or Hobbs or Archie.

Grades

Report cards are in. We have such great kids. Brag alert.

Lili got a certificate, honours with distinction.

Fei had all A's.

Jia and Luk are almost all fully meeting expectations. A couple approaching for both of them in the same areas. Interesting.

Kai is almost all not yet within with a fewvapproaching and a few fully meets. His fully meets were all about work habits and getting along. Basically he's a nice guy who works well with others! Can't ask for more than that.

Lili and Fei were both sure they failed their piano exams. Nope. As always they did great. Lili got 77 (honours) and Fei got 84 (honours with distinction).

Time to chill. Read for fun and play.

Big Kid

Lili and I ran to London Drugs to get a picture copied. I finished scanning and ordering, turned around and she was gone. Not unusual. Figured she likely needed a product or two. So I wandered the whole store and didn't find her. Ya' because she was busy playing Mario Carts!

Anna's Graduation

Fun night. Of course...can't believe our little Anna had graduated already!

Found

Look what Eric found today. I was on the front porch this morning doing my toes and I heard meowing from a kitten but I was worried it was actually Walter crying. I called to him and looked a bit for him in the hedges. Then later Bill came to visit and both he and Eric heard the kitten, they caught him under Bill's truck. He's wild. The big girls have him in the bathroom. Pretty sure the family is all about keeping him. It's not on me this time!

Fun Sports Day

Kids had fun. Eric had a hard time keeping up. They were in three different groups. He missed their running races. Luk and Kai ran this year. No chair, no helpers. Some days it sucks having to go to work.

Oh These Two.

The infatuation continues. Every chair available and Max sits on the same chair as her. They are incredibly sweet. Busy afternoon they didn't make it into the pool before his Mom came to get him. Solution, he's coming back Thursday after school ;)

Lili's award.

Little ceremony at her school today. She got a Silver C. For excellence in two of four categories. Scholastics (minimum3.8), Fine Arts, Athletics and Service. Lili got her award for scholastics ( we don't know her GPA yet) and fine arts (drama).

The students stayed for a sit down luncheon. She said it was nice and most of her friends were awarded as well :)

Walter

Walter had his surgery yesterday. Brutal. Dropped him in the morning and got him back at 3. All of the teeth removed. Such a bizarre thing. Felt like I was making the wrong choice. I know without the surgery he would die. He has a chance now. I was told when I picked him up that we did a great thing. Most people don't make this choice. He seemed pretty calm. He ate voraciously when I got him home. He's on canned food. Eric opened him another can and he ate it too! Hopefully that's the start of him plumping up. He was very gracious about taking his meds last night and this morning. We let him outside because we felt the litter box would
be too much of an insult for him. Last night he was moving slowly, totally not himself and avoiding me. He did sleep in my room last night but not with me like usual. This morning he allowed eye contact, he let me pick him up for a cuddle and he meowed a bit. He is drooling like crazy. He looked really horrible last night. Looked a bit better this morning. Eric gave him a wash and he's been cleaning. I'm a bit nervous that he'll be permanently drooling now. The vet says he should be on an upturn in a few days. Fingers crossed.

Dance Recital

Fun night out. Girls love dancing. Nice to see them smile and have fun while performing.

Work Day

The boys skipped out of going to the beach day with their class. I thought they should do something fun. Eric thought they should help him prune hedges and trees. The boys thought working in the yard with Dad sounded super fun. Go figure.

Incredibles 2

There are very few movies that we all want to see. It is really difficult to find time where we can all go. Tonight is the only night in the foreseeable future that we were all free. We decided to head to Nanaimo for recliner seats. Where you need advanced tickets bought online. Not like our dorky theater in our little town. Couldn't get seats in the time we wanted and ended up with stupid 3D. I thought I got back row seats. Nope...map backwards...had front row. Thankfully was ok with the recliners.

Movie is hilarious. We were all laughing out loud. Jack Jack is awesome. All parents need to see the movie. We were all sad that it ended.

Long drive, way inflated charge from what we're used too. Not likely to be a regular thing.
