Scholarship Applications

So the night before we leave camping and we've left everything to the last minute and it's been a busy week.  Last week of school.  And we are asked if the girls would like to apply for a music scholarship.  Last minute...deadline in the morning.  They had to write letters and fill in paperwork.  Busy busy days!

They got it done.  Fingers crossed.

The Last Granola Bar

I've got stashed Chewbacca granola bars and this morning I took the last one in my lunch.  I put the box in the garbage.  Kai took it out brought it to Eric and pointed the words 'Star Wars' and read it and then turned the box and pointed to the Disney word and said Disneyland!  I call that reading.  Love seeing him learn.  Such big changes.  And on a sad note...that's the last of my Chewbacca treats.

Cool Picture of Fun Fair

Eric just got this picture with a thank you from the pac.  Fun shot of fun fair.

Sports Day

We usually only have a couple photos of each event.  Today Eric took tons.  Hard to pick just a few.  I stayed for the races this morning.  Luk's first time in the chair.  He and Kai had girls from grade 5 helping them.  The weather was great.  Kids all had a great time.

Year End Dance Show

Another year of dance down.  Girls were happy to do the recital.  Performing has definitely  become no big deal.  Lili even helped with some announcing.

Hottest day of the year so far and the school was crazy hot and sufficating.  I'm sooo glad we chose to keep the littles at home with Eric!

Having some Menchies and a drive in the convertible after helped!

Today Eric worked all day.  The boys have been abusing the toy room and are currently banned until they clean up and atone.  Which means no tv either.  I'm guessing they'll get back on track as soon as they realize they lost tv ;)  The girls and I have all taken the day off.  We did all have a long swim.  The pool is at 80.  Nice.  No pictures all day.

Oh, and Mom scored us a free wire moose with lights on it.  I'm sure it's supposed to be for Christmas but we're going to take him camping for Canada day.

Playdoh with the mice.

Too cute.  Jia was watching them while I cleaned their house.  We're starting to think we have miniature mice...they just aren't growing anymore.  They're so fun.  They love to explore and cuddle.  Perfect pets.

Trains

To say Kai loves trains is an understatement.  Luk likes them just fine.  So, boys and I took off this morning so we could ride the train before it gets too hot for Luk.  Quite thankful for a train in our back yard and our seasons pass.  Love that it's a super clean place to go play.

We took the convertible.  They are both such sweet, well behaved boys. We had a great time.  So relaxing with just two kids!  Or, so relaxing without Jia. Plus...my favorite part about the boys...not a lot of serious chatter.  No big thoughts needed ;)

Waiting to see the steam train hook up.
I asked Kai to write his name on his picture, and HE DID!  Can you see it?  So proud.

Love

This man has been working since 6 this morning.  Kai was up at 5:30.

I've been playing.  He made us all breakfast.  Boys and I took off.  Now I'm wanting outside so he's dropped what he's doing to clean the deck for me.  So sweet. He also got ac in Fei's room, I'm not sure we'll see her all summer.

Painting

Fei made a wooden fish for Jia.  Jia wanted to paint it.  Fei didn’t love that idea.  Which lead to talks about gifts, ownership, letting go and respect.  Ug.  Then Jia came to me later and said "I know, I can paint a "picture" of Fishy instead of painting Fishy".  Little Smartie.

Big Girls are Done

Their last day of school was today.  Happy girls here.  Lili is onto grade 10 and Fei is onto grade 9.

Hoping for lots of lazy summer fun.  We're ready for a break!

Rainbow Crosswalk

Our little community has been publicly debating a rainbow crosswalk.  Lili has been watching keenly and is disgusted that there is even debate.  Today Eric heard about a pop up rainbow and took the girls for an evening drive in the convertible to see it.  Sure hope the powers that be let it stay there.

Father's Day

We stayed home today.  Eric's choice.  Big surprise.

Mom and Dad came over and we did dumplings.  Again, Eric's choice.

Nice peaceful day.  Got lots done.  Catching up to the house a bit.
