Third day in Disney

Eric took Jia and Fei to meet Minnie and Lili and I took Luk to meet Mickey.   Love that we're able to split up like that.  Sure saves a lot of time.  As usual you could barely move in Toontown.   We got in to see Mickey first and then were sitting on a bench watching Minnie greet her guests outside in her garden at a tea party.  Luk was completely unimpressed with meeting Mickey.  He was terrified and screaming NO NO NO.  He let me hold him so we could pose for a picture.  He was happy to leave.  He doesn't really talk that much but he made it clear he was hot and tired.  I settled him in the stroller with the top up and a jacket hiding him.  He hid for a while and was happy about being alone.  Lili and I watched Jia come out and dance with Minnie!!  So sweet and then some great hugs. Jia still really loves Minnie.

When Jia talked with Gramma this morning I heard her say "I met Elsa and she's real".  Love it.

Luk ended up falling asleep in Toontown so we sat in the shade while everyone else played.  It was nice.

We had our pirate shirts on so of course did Pirates today.  :)

Weather was great.  Needed to stick to the shade for the afternoon.  That's more like it.

I sure like the park being closed at 8.  Gets us in our room nice and early.

My cold is still here.  Yuk.  Now my voice is almost gone.  Fun.

Still can't get my emails to open.  Finding that super annoying.

Got back to our lovely new room tonight and saw a HUGE bug dissappear under one of the beds.  Eric hunted it down.  He then took it to the office.  They told him it wasn't a cockroach so he handed the dead bug to them except it wasn't dead and he had to catch it again.  OMG I wish I'd been there to see that.  They offered right away to move us to a different room.  Seriously though that is just too much work and they are harmless bugs.  I think.  It was scary big.  Not sure Fei will sleep tonight.  Eric had to get her jammies out of her suitcase.

Loved having our matching shirts and jackets today.  Just makes it so easy to stay together and find everyone.

We met Queen Elsa!

Long, busy day.  We're finally working as a team.  Everyone helping, moving as a group.  It was a good day.  It rained for a few minutes this morning,  then thankfully cleared up for the rest of the day.

We had to use a fast pass for the first time ever to meet Elsa!!  We got our passes at 10:30 and didn't get to meet Elsa until 2:40.  When we were finally there it was so sweet.  Jia was completely awed. I'll remember the look on her face forever.  Another magical Disney moment.

Luke was pretty darn excited to meet Lightening McQueen.   The whole time we stood in line he was saying 'Kachow'.  So cute.

Lili and I did Screamin.   It warns you all about heart and good health but says nothing about sinuses.  Arg.  My cold is worse.  My whole face hurts.  Really hoping this is gone by Saturday.

I got a call from Florida today.  We've been given a free upgrade to two balcony rooms beside each other. Wahoo.  We were all pretty excited about that call.  We had two french door rooms across the hall from each other.

I'm loading pics off everyone's phones :)

We let Luk try chewing gum today.  Big moment.  He took it seriously and he didn't swallow it.

Luk likes the rides, he is eager for each one.  No fear.  He's more concerned about meeting characters.

Yes, that is a churro dipped in chocolate.  Sounds disgusting but it's quite delish.  I love Fei's pictures, they almost never have people in them.  Nice complement to my kid pics.

Day 3 The Magic of Disney

We left the hotel at 9:15, arrived our hotel at noon.  Details for everyone interested in the road trip part.  Costs, because it's been asked:  123 for the coho, 110 in gas, one hotel at 90 and one at 59.  Not counting food because we all have to eat every day.  We did pack a lot of snacks and drinks.

Now the fun part.  We're here!  It rained all morning but it's stopped all afternoon.   We met Mulan right through the gate!  Then walked under the arch and the girls all got hugs from Chip and Dale.  No time to catch all the pictures.  One amazing one of Lili though.   Luk saw Mickey from a distance.  Much to my dismay the castle is missing...behind a picture of the castle.  Little lines but you do give up a fair amount in Feb.

Mulan was totally in character, she saw our phone number on Jia's arm and told us all about how she wrote on her arm once on the way to the matchmakers and it went horribly for her.  Ha ha.  One of those moments.  Can't wait for Jia to watch the movie again and see that part.

And then the rain started.  We're Canadian and BC folks to boot so we're tuff.  Not.  You should see Disneyland clear out in the rain!  We were back at the hotel totally drenched by 7.  The cup holders on Luk's stroller were full!!  Jia was the only one prepared to just keep going.

The Littles and I have had a warm bath and are settled in our jammies.  Eric and Lili are foraging.  They're headed to find groceries for the room and a late dinner.  The Littles ate.  Looks like an early night to bed for everyone.

No clue what the weather will be like tomorrow.   We're not likely to head in again if it's still raining.

In two and a half hours we did a character line up, Astro Orbiters, Buzz Astro Blasters, Nemo, Autotopia and Small World.  Longest line was for Nemo at 14 minutes.

How amazing is the Autotopia picture of the big girls?!  They weren't moving very fast obviously, total fluke.

Oh and the crappy hotel has been transformed.  It's beautiful.   I'll get pictures tomorrow after we've tidied.  Unfortunately the family upstairs is exceptionally loud with stomping.  Clearly they needed to do a whole lot more soundproofing before they made it so pretty.
