Gelato

Way too much fun.  Eric has been helping his friend Albi work on his Gelato truck.  The truck is from Germany and needed modifications to pass health inspections here.  So tonight a thank you came over.  You've never seen kids move so fast ;)  Each flavor better than the last.  Today was all fruit flavors.  Lemon, raspberry, watermelon, strawberry, mango, banana, coconut, orange/mint, kiwi, cantaloupe and lime.  Soooo good.

Oh Walter.

Assorted moments of fun.

Miss Sasha with a new toy at work.  I love watching her play.

Jia the M.C. for the magic show.

Kai having a swim with Dad.

Magicians Luk and Zoey.  Too cute.

Girls school schedules were all messed up.  The line up of kids with problems went out the door. Oy.  Fei can manage hers...electives aren't right but the core classes are ok.  Lili's core classes are not ok.  She's going in again to stand in line and see if there is improvement.  I asked why a circle c kid didn't get preference for her class selections.  That was frowned on.  I'm sorry....I still think top students shouldn't be waiting to see if they can have the core classes they need for the university they are choosing.  Not going to stress yet.  She can always do online.

Thank you Walmart for the matching glow in the dark skeleton jammies.  Thank you Shannon for picking them up. Will have to try for the glow tomorrow night.  Jia sings a song about skeletons.  Wonder if she can teach the others.  That would make a cute show.

Fei and I ran errands tonight.  Needed wrapping paper for Kai's Birthday.  Fei found this extra small sweater for Sasha.  So sweet.  Fei was driving me around.  When teaching Lili it was a constant "speed up" and with Fei I have to tell her to slow down!  She's doing so great and around town I have no fear driving with her.  Not sure about the highway yet.

Weekend fun.

Shannon and family are still here. We've settled into a nice routine.  The kids are having fun with friends here non stop.  They hang, watch TV, play games, swim, play video games, jump on the trampoline, use the Wii and zip line a bit for good measure.  They all run when you yell snack ;)  I haven't had to arrange any play dates.  Talk to any other parents, make plans or do any dropping off or picking up.  Oddly more relaxing having more kids here.

To add to the fun Marty, Cathryn, Lian, Susan and Sean came to the Nelson campground for the weekend too.  18 of us here.  That's busy.
Lunch crew.

Eric and I visited Christina and Kismet.
She was camping with him for the first time.
He's a lot of cat.  On the prowl.  He was trying to get the toy cars.

Dinner chaos.

The littles.

The middles.

The bigs.

The super bigs?

Sasha was exhausted with so much going on.

The girls were all hands on deck with the wild ones.
I went down today and was able to just pick up Charlie.  He wasn't happy but didn't fight me.
Still feels like a losing battle but it's only been a week.

Manly bonding time.

Lili and Lian together again.

Day trip to Chemainus isn't complete without hitting the candy store.

I took four of them to see the Dora movie.  Which was better and funnier than expected.  Plus there was a song about digging a poo hole in the jungle.  So....super duper funny for all of them but in particular funny for Jia.  Who then sang us the song the whole way home.  Oy.
We were the only ones there!  Spooky.
Would have been the perfect movie to take Kai too, wouldn't have had to shush him the whole time.

Slowing down.

Friends are leaving after a weekend visit.  Ken went back home. Deanna is in camp.  Lili and Fei are on route to shop in Vancouver.  Leaving, Eric, Shannon and I here with only 6 kids.  Pretty excited about a slow down day.
When did they get old enough to take off  to Vancouver on their own?!
These two doing their part to keep me resting.

Will and Ryker

The two younger pups are way more of a handful then Joel was.  Haha.  They're going back today.  They are sweet.  Will be great pets.  Not shy.  No biting.  Total cuddle bugs.

Do y'all remember the story about when we got Sasha.  We had Jia with us and Joanie handed her a little fluffy black puppy.  He wasn't in the running for Eric and I but Jia was in love and was moaning to us that he was the one and "why oh why oh why won't you get me this puppy...I'll do anything to have him!" I just let her know Ryker is the same puppy.  Too funny.  He is sooooo soft.  She's so busy with kids to play with 24/7 that she isn't focusing too much on asking for another puppy.  Plus she's in love with Sasha, I think she's over thinking we made the wrong choice.
Little Ryker behind Sasha.

Reunited.

Foster Puppies

We've been planning to do some dog fostering for Sasha's breeder.  Fei needs volunteer hours and this seems a fun way to do it.  So I randomly brought home a dog on Monday.  So fun.  Lili and Fei met me at the door asking "WHAT is that?!".

So dog #1 came for a couple nights.  Joel, six months old.  Chihuahua cross.  From a hoarding situation.  No trauma he's just shy.  We all fell hard for him.  Especially Eric.  Joel fit right in.  It would be sooooo easy to keep him.

However....Eric was brave and took him back this morning  and traded him in for two little boys.  They are Japanese Chin/Chihuahua.  3 months old and the kids get to name them.  How fun is it at our house?!

Joel cuddles like a baby.
He needs a home if anyone wants more information let me know.

Fei got this picture.  Such a doll.

Oh Joel.

Mutual love fest.

Sasha at work.  Long, tough day.  Haha.

The new fosters. So cute.

The wild ones.

We've been given two little kitties who were captured in a barn a week ago.  They were at the spca who has deemed them not adoptable so CCR took them and brought them to our house.  They are older than the wild ones we've tamed before.  They are WILD.  Very scared.  Very hard to catch.  Once caught, they lay still and endure the petting.

In the first night we got ahold of the girl and cuddled her.  Next morning I dressed in a thick house coat and big leather welding gloves.  Eric asked if I was heading into battle.  Yup.  I caught the boy.  He layed in my arms for half an hour.  He didn't fight once I had him.  He hissed every time he looked at me.  Then I attempted to catch her again and he full on attacked me.  They will be long haul.  Frankly not sure if they will become house cats but we will try.
They arrived in this huge cage.  We couldn't reach them and they were NOT coming out.  Had to tip them out.

Fei has named them Millie and Charlie.
Millie wasn't pleased to be caught.

We were able to transfer her back and forth.

And change her positions.

She could have used her claws to escape but she didn't.

Charlie wasn't thrilled.  There was a long battle before I caught him.  We were both heavy breathing.

He started to relax and he won't ever admit it but I think he liked the scrubs.

Behind.

This is what the shoe pile looks like for 9 kids ;)

Eric and Ken took our four boys to a car show.  Kai insisted on referring to it as a hot wheels show.  I was worried he'd be upset there were no hot wheels there but he looks happy and there was a snow cone.

I haven't seen snow cones in forever.

Now he's happy!

Mary and Charles took a load of girls to Combs in our van.  Shannon and I had an afternoon to ourselves!

I used my alone time to paint panda shirts.
Mire on this later.  We're doing the Super hero walk fundraiser in September.

A group dinner at the Rock cod.  21 of us.  Lili and Fei were working.

My friend Tami, Lili and Fei's boss.  She served us all on her own and did a great job as usual.

A moment with Lili and Fei.

Kai's birthday is on the 1st day of school.  We did up goody bags for him to hand out.  Nice for him to have all the help.

Our boy loves anything to do with Birthdays!

Jade was at cadet camp and joined us on Sunday.
