Elsa's Castle

Let's start Jia on big kid Lego.  She's ready I said.  It will be perfect.  It will keep her busy for hours.

Ya'.  It took us two hours to build Elsa's Castle.  Jia did the building, I was the supervisor.  Two hours!  I didn't need to find more things for me to do!!

We both enjoyed it.  Major time waster.  I think the joy is in the building but she won't let me take it apart ;)

She was over the top excited. Eric and I are exhausted. I'm hiding in my room under blankies.

Dinner

Dumplings for dinner on Christmas.  The first of an annual tradition?

Presents

It's been a nice relaxing morning here. We didn't get up until 9. Had to wake up three girls.

Quick breakfast and into the presents. Lili and Fei were happy to finally have their tablets. Luk was thrilled with a robot and Jia is all about Star Lily.

Cleaning up and working on lunch now.

It's all good here.

From Fei and Lili

They wrote this letter to us and took turns reading it out loud to us this morning.  Sob.  Such great kids we've got!  Of course Mom and I cried...but they even got Eric to tear up and that is rare!!

.............

Thank you doesn't cut it for everything that you've done.   This is for you.  This is for all the times that we've needed you and how you've always been there.  We can proudly say that not once, have you not cheered us on, or have turned a blind eye.   Through the years, we have come to appreciate you more and more, and even if we forget to show it, we do care and love you with all our heart.  We appreciate the opportunities, the food, our house, the endless work and labor, and the constant struggle to make our life better.

To Mom:  We're in constant awe of your wisdom.  You may not know this, but you inspire us all the time.  When we're stuck, we go to you for advice and time and again, you never disappoint.  You make anything seem possible.  I mean, if you and Dad can survive parenting 2 little kids, and 2 teenagers, well we rest our case.  It's reassuring that you are still constantly trying to come up with fun family adventures even though most of them don't turn out quite as we expect them too.  You are always pushing us to be and do the best we can.  It's nice to have that feeling.

To Dad:  We're absolutely floored of how you can deal with us every single day.  You are constantly moving from the moment you get up until the moment you go to bed.  Even though most times it may not seem like it, we're  always trying to be as tough and brave as you are.
You astound us with your self of mind.  We've noticed that you are constantly trying to make others happy.   You're constantly caring for others and making sure that they're okay.   We admire that, and we always feel safe when we're around you.

We got lucky.  2 in 7 billion people.  Thank you for always supporting us.  We say that you are the "best parents in the world" because we don't know anybody other than you.  And we don't want too.
The brightest of stars will always guide our way, and thankfully you do and are.  Thank you for being legendary.

We LOVE you so much.  Merry Christmas!

Christmas Eve

New jammies.  Reading of T'was the Night Before Christmas.  Socks, cookies and milk (Walter proofed), oatmeal on the lawn and watching Norad.  Gramma and Grampa were here for all of that too.

I got Jia in bed early.  Still waiting for her to fall asleep.  She is super excited.  What a fun age.  She thanked me for her jammies and told she loved her new tree ornament.   So sweet.

Big girls are with Eric putting a playhouse together in the living room.

Luk was way out of sorts tonight and not happy about the picture by the tree.  He pulled it together for a cookie and after 30 pictures we got a smile.  He crashed in seconds after getting to bed.

Chipmunks!

I took Jia to see the new Chipmunk movie today.  So glad we're all ready and were able to take some time off to play instead of shopping and preparing.  The movie was super silly of course but had lots of laughs.  And enough potty humor to keep little miss in stitches.

Luk decided not to go.  Not sure if that was because he was so scared at the last movie (The Good Dinosaur) or if it was tied to me asking him to stand in front of the tree for a picture.

Family dinner and a play.

My family met on Monday for dinner and a play.  Dinner was in a restaurant with a bar like atmosphere.  Lili and Fei quite liked that.  Plus we were all sitting on bar stools.  Luckily my brother was wearing a belt we could use to strap Luk on the seat with.

The play was really well done.  Quite funny.  We usually go to a panto after Christmas.  This was instead of this year.

FCC Sing-a-long

I'm behind on posting.  This was Sunday.  We were short a couple families.  I think we all had a nice time.  Singing was fun and the food was good :)
