Camping with Mathew (and Ethan)

Mathew was adopted a month earlier than Kai, from the same SWI.  His family lives in Langly.  We've met them before.  They were camping at Gordon Bay this week so we joined them for a few days.  They all got along so great and had a blast playing together.

Ethan is same age as Jia and Mathew has the same birthdate as Luk.  Good match.  Kai remembers Mathew and says they were friends in China.

It was nice to see them agaun and hopefully we can continue to get the boys together.
First glimpse.  Kai was excited to see Mathew.

Kai is missing...literally...took the picture then said "where is Kai?"  He was up the bank sitting at a picnic table.  First time we've lost track of him.  Frankly shocking it doesn't happen more often with the way he wanders.  Thankfully he was found by Eric in a minute and Kai was visibly upset and clingy for the rest of the camping trip.

Lili came out for dinner on the first night.  She brought Isabel.  We wanted Izzy to stay with Lili because it was her first time staying home alone.  Fei is on holiday to Tofino with Hanna.  Worked out great.  Dealing with a big wet dog isn't fun when camping and we had a lot of rain on Lake Cowichan.

Very serious saber duels each night.  New favorite game right now.  Luk takes it very seriously ;)  Lots of limbs were cut off.

Mr. Poppers Penguins on a cold and drizzly morning.

Ours weren't planning to swim.  Then Jia plowed in. Boys got there ankles wet and then were immobilized for a while...upset their feet were cold and wet.  Hoping for a warm day soon  so we can go back and do the beach thing right.

Mathew is so tiny he wears double wet suits to go in!

Mathew and Kai.
Need to send this one to China.

So we glamp.  As seen in this picture...watching a movie in front of the fire.  I did however have a shower at the wash house, and the water wasn't warm so there are moments of discomfort.
