Eric's Birthday Camping

We booked months ago.  Then Sue took the same week off...so not making waves...I drove back and forth all week to Parksville.  It's exhausting.  The drive is an hour and 15mins each way.  This at least solidifies for me that Lili shouldn't be doing the drive while she is in University (if she chooses Nanaimo).  We had some downpours.  Our schedule was nuts, had to come home twice...once for a sand delivery (driveway/parking project) and the second time for Kai's speech appointment and the girls had a piano student.  We needed logistics meetings daily.  Lili had shifts so was back and forth to work with me, she left her car at the office.  At least the cats were happy to see someone most days.  Strange way to camp for sure.  That said...Jia's friend Anwyn was at Rathtrevor so they had lots of fun together.  Luk got a fair amount of bike riding in.  I gave in and packed Lego for Kai. Lili, Fei and I got to ride our favorite ocean trail.  I didn't have my phone/camera with me so very few photos.  We called it Eric's Birthday week.  We did have a great dinner at Hong Kong House yesterday and then headed home for the night. Keeping it real...Eric had had enough of his little roommates and wanted to end the camping a night early ;)  Luk and Jia weren't getting along.  They tried to blame Kai...but Kai doesn't argue.  We have another three day on Monday.  The moho is ready...just need groceries.  We're seeing the family that adopted Kai's orphanage brother.  Pretty excited to see the boys together again.

Fire time, in pajamas with s'mores.

Played so hard she accidentally napped. Odd.  I worried she was getting sick.  She seems fine still.

These two rode and rode and rode.

We went to the Tuesday night market in the rain.
We didn't love the rain...however...there were no crowds or waits.  In the end we had a great time.  Sasha's first rain...she wasn't thrilled.  She's such a Chihuahua.

Fancy glitter tattoos.

It's a dragon.

Jia got a feather in her hair too.

Big girls got henna tattoos so Jia had to have one as well.  The middle kid.  In both worlds.

Love.  Then the hilarity set in because they needed to keep their arms dry for an hour.  It was really raining by then.  They didn't want to miss the rest of the market.  It was challenging and funny.  Big sighs of relief when we made it to the van.
