Snow day.
Which put a huge damper on the bday plans. I hoped to salvage the day by getting to take Onyx out to play in her first snow.
Eric dug her out.
We were sneaking out for lunch and a drive when Fei and friend came home so they joined us.
We went to A & W so I could have a rootbeer milkshake and mozza burger. Their machine was down. The guy working suggested rootbeer mixed with chocolate milk. Literally my two fave beverages but it sounds absolutely disgusting together. It was on the house so I tried it. It was quite nice. It tastes like butterbeer.
We picked up a couple ingredients for dinner. Eric made me stuffed manicotti and peanut butter/jam chocolate cake. Not the diet version. I'm super full today ;) and grateful for his hours in the kitchen to feed us.
We didn't find enough snow to challenge Onyx. Zero sliding and she walked over the snow we did find easily. So she did great but I didn't get a feel for what she can actually handle.
She sure was pretty though.
Full disclosure. I picked out my own gifts. A laminator. No projects in mind, just have always wanted one. Jeep parts for Onyx. Replacing netting on the doors with metal. A 4 racket pickleball set. Just for fun. And Lili got me a dvd of The Wild Robot. Family movie night coming up.
How the heck am I 59? I'm way too immature to be 59. That sounds so old.
