Luk is going to Pre-school

We got Luk registered for pre school today. He's going to do Tues. and Thurs. mornings starting in Sept. Yay. He's going to the same school all three girls went to. We had previously been told that he would need a support worker with him if he wasn't potty trained. So we were quite pleasantly surprised to be told today that he could come and we'd just work it out. I was clear with them that he is incontinent and quite likely won't potty train any time soon.
I've read about lots of kids learning control at later ages but we're fairly certain he'll be cathing and learning social bowel continence. One can certainly hope for the best though. I think Fei felt we hadn't been doing the potty training right with Luk so she gave it a try on the weekend. Three pairs of wet underwear in a half hour. She gave up when he peed in front of her while telling her he didn't have to go. Love it.

We took Fei to have a 3D imprint made of her mouth. She gets her braces in May. She isn't totally delighted. The ortho asked if she was excited and she grimaced. I asked if any one was ever excited about getting braces and he said "YES" and another girl there threw her hand up to let us know she was excited. Fei just sees torture. Today looked extremely uncomfortable. She was a great patient.

Luk climbed up in a chair and tried to sit like Dad with a magazine in the waiting room. He is sooo stinkin' cute.

I forgot to update about Jia's ears. She failed a hearing test at her kindergarten screening. She went to have a full test done last week and her hearing is fine. In the normal range. She has one flat ear drum but it isn't affecting her hearing. The lady there said it's just her personality to be so loud.

In other news. Eric is experiencing growing pains having Scott here. Scott is grumpy, frustrated, complaining a lot about everything. He wants everything his way and right away. He's mostly unhappy about less channels on tv. He remembers the digital box and loaded channels here and now he doesn't have as many channels so he thinks the tv is broken and has taken it apart three times. Eric has to keep hooking him back up. He also wants a cell phone. His isn't working and is too old anyways. He only wants a white flip phone and won't consider anything else. Did they ever make white flips? The last call was him upset because he couldn't get cash from a machine across town. Eric had to go get him and get the cash for him and show him again that his own bank is just down the street from his place. Scott bought a dresser that needed assembling but Eric ran out of time one evening because he needed to re-hook the tv and dvd player up so he went back the next day to finish the dresser and the screws were missing. Yup, took three visits to build one dresser. Some of it is funny for sure, and sad and frustrating. A friend said today that we're all just one small stroke away from where he is. Humbling. Still wish his kid had stepped up though.

Lili sees the head Dr. at her spine clinic next week at Queen Alexandra. Dr. Penny looks at her files and x-rays but we've never met him.

Lili and Fei are both working hard to get through grade 3 piano in June. A speedier process than usual. Kathy feels they're ready.

I've been working at getting my photos organized and saved properly. Big job. Finally feeling on track. Had to sort and save all since Luk came home. Phew. Plus my phone was full so really had to start getting it done. Still have five more months on the contract ;)

Another long day down.
