We slept in. Which was so nice.
Eric took off to Lordco and got the parts Oscar needed. I made breakfast and he was done with the repair about the same time I was done the dishes.
It was cold, overcast and drissly. Which is crazy after the gorgeous day yesterday. So we took off for parts unknown since hanging at the beach sounded just cold.
Stop one, SOS thrift store in Parksville. Luk needed a bigger mac jacket for camping, he found one plus a dress shirt for the cruise. Eric found this loveseat. Power recliner with USB ports. His recliner has seen better days. We bought it. So we can cuddle. Which means he's bringing the utility trailer tomorrow then home again before he can come back here. He isn't getting to relax this weekend.
Next to The Shore in Qualicum for poutine. They don't have poutine anymore. I just stood there staring at her. Haha. Serious eating disorder people can't just pivot. We got the Dole Whip and left. All food is disgusting in general for me these days. I'm in a Crohns flare right now so the food issues are worse than usual and since I'm now type 1 diabetic not eating just isn't an option anymore. The only food I can consistently tolerate is apples, crackers, cheese and yogurt.
Eric found a food truck with poutine and a gazebo to sit in and stay dry. It was really good and I almost ate my half.
Eric spotted this guy from WAY off. I pointed out a parking lot so he got out and got close enough for this magnificent picture.
Luk's picture.
The eagle eventually flew off. We were surprised how close Eric got before it did though.
We carried on doing the scenic route to Courtenay. Which is a beautiful drive. In Courtenay we bought Luk shoes that fit over his orthotics. A huge feat. I am decently sure we now have everything needed for me, Eric and the boys for the cruise.
On the way back to the campsite we found a perogy community dinner at a Ukrainian church. So that was fun. The line up went all the way around the building!
Dessert too. Spiced carrot cake with caramel/coconut topping.
I ate six out of my 15. The servings were huge. Eric took mine to Lili. He was dropping off a couple old porch chairs for her patio. She is settling in nicely.
Luk sent me this double rainbow picture from their drive home.
Kai is watching movies. He started with Dinosaur and is now watching Wall-E. I thought I'd get to play on my phone but there is barely service here tonight. It was fine yesterday and this morning. So odd.
We're warm, fed and looking forward to another ocean air sleep. My chill has broken and the flare is calming down a bit.
