I forgot to get the obligatory ferry pic. Hotel pic instead.
We kept to routine and went to Dollarama for snacks before checking in. Kai found a Hot Wheels Jeep Gladiator. The hotel has a full coffee, tea, hot chocolate station. Yum. They are allowing a late check out tomorrow. Luk's procedure isn't until 2:15. I requested a priority letter for the ferry home. It will be a late night.
Whales. This just never gets old.
Oliver has recently decided he's my cat. ? We're barely friends. Lol. He doesn't have any cat manners. Esmei has been quite dismayed by this unexpected turn of events and the other day she jumped up on me and found him in her spot and attacked him. So they both got kicked off the bed. She is a 3rd of his weight. She is all fluff and he is solid muscle. Today they appear to be sorting it out.
Jia and Robert are in love. They spend every second together they can and talk on the phone the second they're separated.
So cute.
They're working on matching up their work schedules.
Miss Sassy likes the bed. I guess we should/could take down Finn's attractive safety cardboard.
So, yesterday, a neighbor just up the hill from us dug up a gas line. The big 14" one. He didn't call 811 first.
Eric heard the hissing while he was outside and knew. Fire, police, North Cowichan and Fortis Gas were on site teally fast. Some people were evacuated. We were not. It took some time to figure out but Google Maps and Hey Google let us know we were 650' away. The evacuation circle was 350'. Phew.
It took hours for the spillage to stop. It was WAY louder than I would have thought it would be. And the smell, oy, so bad. I did have a headache. You could smell it at the boys school and Luk had a headache as well. We weren't sure we could get out with the driveway blocked. We loaded into Oscar, Eric had full intention of driving down the rock retaining wall. Haha. He's probably a bit disappointed that he didn't have to. It took a few hours to fix. We picked the boys up from school, met Lili and went for ice cream and got Luk a haircut before the road was open again. I'm dying to know how big the fine will be for dippy.
