Last Day in Hawaii

Hoʻomaluhia Botanical Garden

We found a critter.

Google says it's a Mongoose.
We realize now the baby otter we thought we saw in Kona was also a Mongoose.

The wildlife is all birds.

The number of Jeeps on the island is just staggering.  Eric played photogher to a few.  He just wanted to talk Jeeps ;)  He's missing Oscar.

They are all stock so I'm assuming all rentals.

This drive is half an hour out of Honolulu and is free.  It's quite high up so not as hot.
Welcome to my home.  Lol.
Iolani Palace

Tickets were $29 each.  Parking was tough to find.  We circled for half an hour and got metered street parking for $4.
Booties.  The palace has been beautifully restored.  We didn't have access to the 1st floor which was kitchens and servants rooms.

The tour is different on certain days.  Our day was self directed audio.  We had phones that talked us through.

She gave a little too many details.  Lol.  We zoomed through. I might read up on the royal family another day.  It all sounded interesting.  The local people are still pissed big time about events and aren't pleased to be American.  There were even a couple snide comments in the tour.

The public library.
State Capital

Queen Lili, facing the Capital building.
Ke'ehi Lagoon Beach Park

No where near the other beaches.  But the sunset was pretty.

This one is used primarily for kayaking. The fields were full of football games of all ages.

The white things are very loud birds.

We hung out here until it was time to head to the airport.  Returning the rental car was stupid easy.
We have been on the move all night.  No sleep.  I can't think or do math.  Haha.  Desperately ready to be home.

We didn't enjoy the airports or flying, at all.  A calamity of errors and we missed our flight in Seattle.  So that cost us.  We're on the Hullo now.  Lili is picking us up.  Home soon, home soon, home soon.

Oh, and after the Hawaii heat it is freakishly cold here.

Oh, oh, before I forget the voice on Google maps in Hawaii is different, she can pronounce all the interesting Hawaiian Roads.  We tried. Not very successfully.
