The boys scholastics.

Luk is doing ok.  He can recognize and write all of the letters in Capitals and lower case.  He struggles to get them on a line so we work on that.  He is counting to 100 and by tens. He is doing simple adding and take aways. Kai can recognize H, K, L and J.  He can sing song the alphabet and count to ten. Also match the right amount of items to the numbers. He is able to hold the pencil now and is starting to draw little lines and tiny o's. He still scribbles but is getting more controlled.

It's tough finding ways to practice these skills while keeping it fun.  It's just so much of the same thing over and over.

I've been asking Jia to pass her leap pad to Kai.  She has been holding on tight.  She is WAY, WAY, WAY past the leap pad. I told her she could own my old phone if she'd release the leap pad.  It's taken months. Out of the blue last night she announced that she was ready.  I sooo didn't want to buy another one.  The hand off happened and Kai was thrilled with his new tablet.  The boys sat for an hour last night tracing letters and enjoying the pets on the screen.  Serious concentration.

This morning the boys wanted to play with them again and I was pretty happy they'll have a hand held game for our trip next week. Children's for Luk's MRI. Then while I was doing dishes I heard grunting...Kai was working really hard at trying to shove the pen in the speaker hole. That ended his tablet fun for today.  Supervision required. Luk sat alone, taking pictures of me and drawing all over them.  :)

Jia has struggled a bit with missing her tablet but she is still helping Kai with basics like on and off.  I've been making a big deal of calling her phone 'her' phone. Of course there is no phone or data activated on it but it works great on wifi.
