Spring Break ends.

:(

At the end of two weeks the kids are all settled into a home routine.  They're nice. To us and to each other.  We say we've got them back.

Then this morning it was back to school.  Packing lunches while forcing Jia to get up and function. Directing the boys step by step.  Rushing to be on time.  Arg.

After school they scattered.  Too tired to even deal with each other.  Luk was beyond exhausted.  Feet turned all the way in.  Hardly moving and slower than usual.

Jia found a flicker feather at school and wanted to dip it in ink and write with it.  I offered her pink paint instead and that kept her painting for a while.

It was my flex day so Eric and I stuck around for assembly today.  Kai just doesn't get what is expected.  I think next flex day I'll sit with him.  He moves all around, bumping and rocking into the kids near him.  Talking.  Kicking his feet out and up and down.  Thumping loudly enough for the whole school to hear.  Took his shoes off and on. Waved his arms around over his head.  Bent over and had his mouth on his shoes.  So.  Ya.  He's likely bored to death and finding ways to amuse himself.  The principal although nice enough is boring to listen to.  Not the biggest problem in the world but I feel if someone helped him do what is expected and then praised him it might improve.

Brought a cat toy home for Esmei and had some good fun watching her play tonight.  I'm easily amused.

We went to Victoria on Saturday.  Met Debbie and girls for lunch.  Jia and Emily were thrilled.  They took Jia home with them for the afternoon.  We got to shop without her!   So calm and peaceful.  The boys love shopping.  We even went to Value Village.  Boys picked out a bunch of t-shirts each.  I've been looking for a black zippered kangaroo jacket.  Thought VV Boutique would be the place.  Still no black but found a great grey one and flip flops for Jia.  So we're set for Disney now.  Then we met back up with Debbie and family for dinner at the family favorite, Spaghetti Factory.  Jia gorged on her mizithra and then slept all the way home. So the drive was peaceful too!  The day felt holidayish.

We also made our first foray into wheelchair shopping.  Didn't make much progress.  More confused by options than before.  Luk is super excited about a chair. I was over thinking as usual.

Kai's one year post placement was on Sunday.  Went well enough.  Quick and simple.

Tonight at bed time Kai came for his hug.  I was busy so Eric told him to ask for a hug. He said 'hug uh uh'.  I stopped, got him to look in my eyes by holding his face and asked him to say MA MA. He tried a couple times and then he did it!  First Mama!!  With m's!!

These two are so sweet together.
Paper play sets from Wendy's.  Kept them amused.
He just doesn't love photos.  Just before this shot he was jumping up and down because he found mini trains like his at home.  Both boys bought another one so they were pretty happy.

Waiting for it to move.
Quick attack.
Retreat, hide and wait for more movement.  She picks it up by the tail. Too funny.
