Another Children's Visit

Luk's six month spinal cord injury clinic.  8 appointments and a renal ultrsound in 4 hours.  Phew.  No major changes.  Luk was great. The orthopedic surgeon has approved an orthotic to help the in-toeing.  Which will help him to run.  She wants him playing soccer.  We can NOT picture that.  Mostly positive things.  The team is on our page for future medical plans.

Mom came with us.  We stayed at Easter Seal House.  Sometimes free isn't good enough.  It was sweltering there.  We arrived late.  So thought we could manage.  Oy.  We should have bailed and looked for a hotel.  Chocolate melted to liquid.  All three of us were suffering.  It was a long night.  Luk didn’t get much sleep.  He's such a great kid.  Barely complained.

Apparently Ronald McDonald House has portable air conditioning.  Hoping to try there next time.  The team social worker is going to call Easter Seal and talk about the problem.  She had a couple families complaining.

We stopped at the Tswassen Mall for lunch.  Luk had won ton and chow mein so he was a happy guy.  We bought some bigger shorts for Kai.  Going to need them for Disney/Mexico in Oct.  Got light grey tights for Lili, Fei and I.  Which were the last pieces of grey for our sock monkey costumes!  Slowly but surely.  Luk was in his chair.  We were chuckling at him.  He normally sticks close by and holds our hands but in the chair he wonders or wheels off.  He does tons of turns and back and forth and he covers way more distance.  Then he calls out 'hey Mom!  Come see this!'.  Too funny.  Now we need to work on being mindful of others.  He just rolls back and bumps into walls, shelves, displays and people.
